I am thinking of calling it a 'train' ?

I guess the point of this is to allow someone to take their car a longer distance and come out the other side with their car. If you have to get out of your car and get on a train, what do you do at the other end if you need to drive?

Hire a car like you would on any holiday.

You forgot this needs to be an end to end experience to maximise gains.

Plus on trains you have to sit near members of the public :dread:

Musk is the new Clarkson: as soon as someone mentions liking him you can immediately discount them as someone worth bothering with.

Why do people treat musk like some mind of genius? He doesn't invent or create anything, he pays other people to do that, yet gets all the credit.

OH MY GOD MUSK HAS INVENTED SPACE TRAVEL

The channel tunnel is already a train you can take a car onto, though. You could just expand the existing rail infrastructure with car-train stations if it was a thing that people really wanted.

We should be moving away from the "personal travel vehicle" model as much as possible not coming up with new ways to remain tied to it.

Tesla sell cars though and future space flight that'll probably never happen.

You see it's about producing electric vehicles, sure, but it does nothing to solve the problem of storing, servicing, transporting and disposing of vehicles for every single household (or multiple per household) which is bourgeoisie nonsense.

strawberry float that. I can think of nothing less appealing (especially these days) than being stuck in a sealed metal tube with a bunch of strangers.

I miss the old British rail carriages with divided compartments and walkways. I know they're not safe but it somewhat helps that problem.

You're still surrounded by strangers when you're driving, and if anything you're forced to interact with them more and those interactions tend to be worse as people get road rage. On a train you can zone out and ignore everyone else, if you do that while driving you'll cause a car crash.
