I heard walking on the stip is actually was pretty horrible.

Hyperloop was a different thing wasn't it?

Hyperloop has been a huge failure.
Both the UK and Japan have started building new high speed rail and hyperloop wasn't even a consideration.

Yes, it may have the odd vanity project route but it won't be a viable alternative to trains any time soon.

Places like Vegas are walking based out of nessecity as it's just too dense to use a car, so when there's the prospect of being in a car for any reason, they blow their load over it. The whole point of somewhere like Vegas is to be in amongst stuff. What a gooseberry fool concept.

Remember years ago when on holiday there parents and I walked to a McDonald's for breakfast and the staff nearly fell over in shock when we walked in as the only customers.

Drive through was queued up, no one in the actual restaurant

New York is about the only city with a functional public transport system over there, and even then the roads are just filled with cars.

Probably not much fun in early April to the end of September but I didn't find the heat to be so oppressive that I'd want an underground air conditioned car to escape the heat when I was there.

It is surprisingly long just getting from your hotel room to the strip too, a place that is 20 minutes walk away is probably closer to 30 minutes when you factor in walking from the hotel room to the lobby exit onto the strip.

There you go, you just saved a 20 minute walk. Also, you will still die from heart disease.

Mandalay Bay to the Venetian, more or less the full length of the strip, is about an hour walk. I reckon you could do that with only being outside for about 5 minutes if you wanted to avoid the heat.

Whether or not the strip is horrible is down to how much you want to embrace the Vegas-ness of it. Could totally see why people would just hate the entire place.

It's more I heard they built up the pavement so there's not a lot to see outside to try and keep everybody inside spending.

Last time we went we stayed in an apartment block connected to the MGM grand. As the crow flies from our room it would be 2 minutes tops to get to the main strip by walking, but you had to go through the MGM to get out and I swear it used to take 20 minutes just to get that far.

They made it clear in Ocean's Eleven that the casinos are designed like mazes to keep people inside.

I wouldn't get into that death trap if you paid me.
Where's the escape route and the ventilation in case of fire is nowhere to be seen.

The whole thing is strawberry floating gooseberry fool.
