As u all know, weeks ago i told u all that DHL may have lost my laptop which was being sent back to Acer. Well today i've been told that it has been lost (this after a several week investigation). So they've offered us a replacement. Bear in mind that it's now been nearly 6 weeks since i sent it off to Acer via DHL, do u think that i am entitled to my money back on my laptop? I paid £800 for it a year ago now. It was 11 months into it's warranty when i sent it back to them.

Perhaps, as you could claim to have lost valuable information contained on the hard drive, and you want to be compensated gosh darn it.

I would certainly give it a shot, as - to be perfectly frank with you - Acers are a bit crap, and you could get yourself something less dirty.

 true. But this was a well built Acer though, not of the cheap quality they usually produce. It was one of the gemstone ones. Build wise it's the best laptop i've used. However obviously it had problems as the touchpad and keypad stopped responding, then the dvd drive started playing up. But it was still pretty :(

Hmm. Well in that case, chance your arm and attempt to get a refund, but relax as the default condition of your situation is something you're happy about, too.

I really don't know about claiming within a certain time period, though. Soz.

But if you sound upset on the phone, it can do wonders.

Protip - Even expensive Acers will break. They are all gooseberry fool.
