I'll take some of that. £10 on the 150/1 horse to win.
That's the deposit on my new car, or a new TV, surround system and ps4/xbone.

Sweeps - sod that amateur gooseberry fool. The real hardcore once a year punters like myself go each way.

Balls. I'm buggered if I can remember the username and password for my online account. Will probably have to change all the cards over as I bet that expired too.

Quite a lot of faff this.

I was!!! That's why I am doing it properly! ;)

Am also in the work sweepstake. Can't remember what donkey I'm on as the ticket is on my desk at the office. Doesn't matter cos the 'jackpot' is nothing compared to what I stand to win with the thoroughbred monster that will romp home (probably just edging fifth!!!) for me this afternoon.

Still haven't managed to put a bet on yet - bloody Paddy Power!!!!

Also, poor AP McCoy. He's the clear favourite just because of the sentimental punt. He'll either go out today ruining his (ultimate) employers - the bookies - or pissing off all the once a year punters who stuck a tenner on him.

No pressure like!!!!

I've got:

  • Rocky Creek - £5.50 to win (9/1)
  • River Choice - £9.50 to win (150/1)
  • First Lieutenant - £2.50 Each Way (20/1)
  • Court By Surprise - £2.50 Each Way (40/1)

Court By Surprise sounds like an old Victorian phrase for Rape, come to think of it....

First Lieutenant at 2.50 each way. Realise that its a bit of a sentimental punt with the whole woman winning the national thing, but meh. Sounded good.

YOU BET - THEY DIE! Boycott the Grand National and the horse racing industry (same goes for the greyhound races). The evidence is there, thousands of animals die annually as a direct consequence of this exploitative industry; either they don't make the grade and are culled, or are literally raced to death on the tracks. Your afternoon's entertainment costs their life.
See Animal Aid's death watch counter for proof of fatalities on the tracks - www.horsedeathwatch.com

Tomorrow all around the country animal rights groups will be doing peaceful protests to highlight the hidden suffering. Get in touch with your local group to see if they are organising one
