Is it necessarily a 'Ripleymorph' though? Could be some kind of infiltration suit for entering an alien hive undetected, just missing a mask/facepiece. (Though admittedly the way it seems to merge into the forehead would go against that)

But it makes sense really. Develop a suit that you can wear so the Xenos don't attack you, carry a bomb to the centre of the nest and then stroll back out again.

It's not even unheard of within the expanded Alien franchise.

I remember having that toy as a kid. The whole idea being this Marine could infiltrate a hive with this disguise. Pretty sure one of the novels had a similar idea, though it might have been some kind of pheromone they used.

But it was still a pretty stupid idea.

EDIT: It was the Novel "Alien Harvest" and if I remember right it was a cyborg Alien that looked exactly like them. Some plan to extract royal jelly from a Queen as it was worth millions as a performance enhancer or something.

They should probably find a new leading actress before they think of making another Alien film.

I have that Master Chief helmet in the final pic (from WETA Workshops).

An Alien Halo crossover would be pretty magical.

Digging a lot of that artwork, pity it was axed.

I think Blomkamp would have done a pretty decent job with an Alien film and at the very least it would have looked fantastic.

I remember being not that bothered that he wasn't going to do the Halo movie. Then I saw District 9 and immediately decided that if anyone was to do Halo it would have to be Blomkamp. So many little things in that movie really showed off what he could do with Halo if he had the chance.

Alien would be good as well though, but I don't want to see them do anymore with that franchise. Apart from the Prometheus movies I don't think there's any need to go back to the movies post-resurrection. Besides it'd never be as good as the first two (I'd even include Alien 3 as I love that movie).

I thought that the alien ship was a lot larger than that...

Don't be so sure, he says "I don't think I am [working on it] anymore" this could be a ploy to gauge interest in such a film

Just stick to watching the original two films over and over. I'm no huge fan of where the series has gone after Aliens but to dimiss gooseberry fool at such an early stage/with next to no info is just daft. Also it says Pilot something and Space Jockey on the same image. Ripley Space Jockey would make me HARD.

I don't care how ludicrous the Ripley morph is, more Hicks and I'm in!

So this was just a fun little personal project for Blomkamp, imagining how he might do an Alien movie?

What are you banging on about? I said that the suit looked stupid, the premise of a Neill Blomkamp Aliens film, now that I'd be all over.

Several of the early Alien 3 screenplays still had Hicks in as I recall.
