I think this latest series of Bojack Horseman is the best television I've watched this year.

Worse, but mostly because I wasn't expecting it.

I think it's supposed to be a Halloween thing. It's a sort of high pitched violin note, like you'd hear in a jump scare.

Castlevania was great. First half was maybe a bit slow, having to set things up, but the second half, once everything was in place, was legitimately fantastic.

Finished it yesterday morning. Better than the first season. They made it much more broad, fleshing out the universe. Looking forward to S3 now.

Just finished Castlevania, seemed to have improved the fluidity of the animation when compared to season 1 and looked downright gorgeous at times. Episode 7 starting with Bloody Tears playing as they entered the castle was one of the best moments and my inner Castlevania fanboy squealed.

That bit was strawberry floating good. Loved all the little callouts to the series as well, Trevor finding the chest in a wall, Alucard's wolf transformation.

EDIT: And yeah +1 for Season 2 being great. My fiancee and I binged watched both seasons on Sunday (rewatching the first) and it was awesome.

You'll be waiting a long time, Netflix cancelled it a couple of years ago.

I enjoyed it, some great performances in that show, although I thought the lead actor was poor. But I can see that it was a show that was never going to find a huge audience and I imagine it was expensive to make.

You're right on almost all counts (I thought the lead actor was fine), and it's understandable I suppose, but it's still bitterly disappointing to hear.

I've seen that Netflix has other period dramas (namely Medici: Masters of Florence and Roman Empire), are they any good?

Roman Empire is more documentary than drama. I started watching it and it was ok. A tad cheesy though in places.

The Haunting of Hill House is actually pretty decent.
