Yeah we're watching it now and I can't believe how quickly it escalates and it just doesn't let up. The people making the show must have been in complete disbelief, wanting to make a documentary about big cat breeding and stumbling into a whole, insane world of crime.

I can't stop watching it.

What's incredible is just how much footage they had. So much was caught on camera. They even had (spoilered for those who haven't seen it): Joe's lawyer asking if there was only one copy of the documentary on tape and if Joe understood what he meant wink wink

Apparently there's going to be a new episode released for it some time this week - so I'm guessing there's some update to be shared...

I think this is what makes Tiger King a step above the recent spate of true crime documentaries we've seen on Netflix. Usually, we get firsthand accounts, either through interviews or witness testimonies, of [what we're being told] happened. 'The Mind Of Aaron Hernandez' and 'Surviving R Kelly' being two recent big ones. Yes, there's CCTV footage of Aaron Hernandez and there are tapes of R Kelly peeing on teenagers, but this forms only a small part of the overall narrative.

Tiger King just has actual footage of the vast majority of a story spanning years.

Jeff Lowe interrupting Joe's conference call with Howard and the lawyers to tell Howard that both he and his 'banana split wife' can strawberry float off? On tape.

The aftermath of Saff getting his arm ripped off? On tape.

Truckloads of expired meat from Wallmart getting dropped off at the zoo? On tape.

Joe very nearly needing to shoot several lions in the head because someone has clearly sabotaged his shoes? On tape.

I think Tiger King benefits from the scenario and everyone involved already being sufficiently bizarre that someone had already tried to film a reality show about them before they started filming this documentary, which itself started prior to many of the most insane events happening. Given what we've seen, I can't imagine what was in the footage that was destroyed in the fire.

Not to mention CCTV that was the perfect angle to capture the reaction of someone watching someone accidentally blow their head off

Anyone else watching Money Heist? I’ve only got one episode of season 4 now but it’s maintained it’s usual very high standards. Looking forward to seeing how it ends tomorrow morning.

I'm part way into series 2, but struggling with the pacing.

His has this one robbery dragged on for this long? I sort of assumed it would have resolved at the end of the first series.

I also started watching Tiger King, and gooseberry fool is mental. Only 2 episodes in, and it's already been one hell of a journey. Everyone in this programme is utterly batshit crazy.

I've been in the mood for some LotR but Fellowship isn't on Netflix but Twin Towers and RotK are.

I’m assuming Netflix has the theatrical releases, so I wouldn’t even bother. Extended or nothing; I know 3+ hours per movie is a lot but having just watched the extended versions of FotR and TTT over the last two weekends, the amount of additional context and character development that got cut for the cinema releases is ridiculous. Try and ‘acquire’ them if you can.

Yes! I struggled a bit with S3 but once it got going it was great. Halfway through S4 now.

That's brilliant but why isn't Fellowship on Netflix but TT and RotK are?

All 3 were on there a while ago, I'm sure. I'm guessing the rights ran out for Fellowship before the others?
