Has anyone watched Sex Education?

Watched Sex Education this week. Bloody loved it. I loved the odd 80's/present day setting and mix of US and British schooling aspects/traditions. I don't understand the criticism of this aspect as it's obvious to me that it was intentional and not some american producer assuming that is what British schooling is like. Some peope posting reviews and comments seem to have missed the fact they are wearing 80s clothing, riding 80s bikes and driving 80s cars yet they have iphones and talk about current pop culture. Again this has clearly been done on purpose. I'm looking forward to a second season, can't come soon enough. I thought the finale was great as it set lots up for the next season.

I didn't dislike that aspect, I just wasn't sure whether it reflected an aspect of Welsh youth/school culture that's Americanised and had passed me by or something more intentional.

Apparently it's just Netflix aiming to please the largest possible audience, similar to how Black Mirror is often presented.

I wasn’t having a go at you, I’ve just read a lot of reviews and comments this week on various sites with people complaining about how they’ve Americanised British schooling and even comments about them ‘throwing American footballs around in the halls’ when they are actually rugby balls :fp:

It's not all that jarring, the new schools in my area now have lockers lining the corridors, and there's American Football games played at my local Uni on Sunday these days.

We used to play American football at school break time back in the late 80s/early 90s. NFL was quite popular at the time and we were all playing tv sports football on the ST/Amiga.

Trigger Warning with Killer Mike went up today:

Watched the first episode, and it's good. Very funny, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with the other issues in the series.

An exclusive behind the scenes look at the infamous unraveling of the Fyre music festival. Launching globally on Netflix on January 18, 2019.

Created by Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule, Fyre Festival was promoted as a luxury music festival on a private island in the Bahamas featuring bikini-clad supermodels, A-List musical performances and posh amenities. Guests arrived to discover the reality was far from the promises.

Chris Smith, the director behind the Emmy Award Nominated documentary Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, gives a first-hand look into disastrous crash of Fyre as told by the organizers themselves.

Finally finished episode 1 of Titans and was surprised to see Geoff John's wrote it. Would have expected better characterisation from him.

DC Titans may be the best thing I’ll ever see this year already. It’s phenomenal. Tens thousands times better than defenders/runaways etc.. the Batman mythology is just top notch.

I'm absolutely in.
It's a shame the last attempt at a Resident Evil TV series never took off, the concept footage looked really good.

Watched that Fyre documentary the other night - I only had sympathy for the island workers that didn't get paid for their work. The rest of those influencers, hangers-ons and faux-jetset-riche twats can get strawberry floated.
