Netflix Party: could this group-watching tech gimmick be a lifesaver?

A new Google Chrome extension allows groups of friends to watch and comment on shows and movies together, a genius invention at a difficult time

Netflix Party is a Chrome extension that allows users to chat while they watch the same film at the same time. You log in, share a viewing link with friends, choose one person to be in charge of picking what you watch and, as your chosen show plays out in the bulk of the screen, a chatroom pops up on the right-hand side. You can discuss the show with the people in your room, or argue, or flirt, or veer wildly off-tangent because you’ve realised that you’ve picked an absolute dud to watch.

I'll be honest: it took me *months* to get into it, then I started watching it on Netflix and even then I wasn't totally enamoured with it, but then ep 10 rolled around (somewhere around there) and I have just been binging on it every day. It's basically a humorous supernatural/mystical powers/fighty anime. Available in both subs and dubs.

Watching the first episode. The english dub :slol:

Sounds like that other site, think it was bunny or something. You could all watch a film from Netflix together or from someone hard rdrive and various other things.

Edit, think it was rabb.it

Currently watching the Tiger King documentary series, and it is truly fascinating, largely due to the fact that every single person in it is strawberry floating batshit.

I remember seeing the main guy on a Louis Theroux documentary ages ago, showing off his private zoo full of big cats, monkeys and such. Turns out he's now in prison for hiring a hitman to kill a rival zoo owner. :slol:

I'm watching it too, onto the second episode. It's very watchable and keeps getting crazier.

Finished that last night - that particular brand of crazy seems to only reside in America.

Started this tonight. It really is compelling. Got to the episode about the millionaire husband.

You are correct, everyone in it is strawberry floating batshit mental. They are basically cult leaders. Also, they complain about our strawberry floating teeth, Jesus.

I watched that and like you I had already seen the Louis Theroux documentary which made it even better because I knew of him,

Years ago me and my partner were in the world of parrot breeding and although different to large cats you get some oddball characters and bitter rivalries and I could definitely see comparisons how they are all in each other’s businesses and become obsessed with each other, I think when you are in something so deep you think the whole world revolves around it

I quite liked the guy, to be honest, thought he was a bit of a hero. Not sure if that was the intention, but never mind.

It wasn't.

He preyed upon lost teenaged boys who, despite being straight, would have sex with him because he supplied them with the meth they needed. He is an awful human being but in the same way it must suck for Harvey Weinstein to go down knowing how many other people are getting away with the same thing, it must suck for Joe to know that he's in prison while everyone else is free.

Not that he doesn't deserve it.

Apparently he's courting a pardon from Trump, which to be honest, is the only way for this to end. Tiger King is the most absurd true story I have ever heard. Kinda like how a kid might describe a superhero. "He can fly and also bullets don't hurt him and he has the strength of 1000 gorillas and he can speak french and time travel". The least shocking thing about Joe Exotic and everyone that surrounds him is that he owned 220 tigers; I was getting a little exhausted from the ever-increasing twists. It's only fitting that he be pardoned from his 22-year prison sentence by President Donald Trump. How is that not the icing on the cake?

Yeah that was awful, wasn’t it, his husbands being suckered into that life. Really felt for them. It was the ‘shooting assault rifles into the water, blowing gooseberry fool up and making ridiculously inappropriate videos’ that made me chuckle, especially against Carole Baskin, who was just so odious and greasy.

I also watched Tiger King this week. I just love how one of the guys was the actual inspiration for Scarface and yet he is the most normal person in the documentary.

It's an amazing series with two genuinely jaw dropping moments. The first was expected in a documentary about Tigers but the second blew my mind (pun intended)

Not Netflix but big cat related. Amazing movie which is worth a Google. Basically a director wanted to make a movie using lions and it ended about as well as expected.

Watched Tiger King. What the actual strawberry float! Honestly, if that was a finctional story told in a movie people would criticise it for being too ridiculous.

Also, strawberry float Carol Baskin!
