I have no idea how to beat OSCs level, that looked tough.

Before the stream I was afraid the hint at the end might have been too obvious... it's really difficult to guess how others are going to experience your levels, what they might dismiss as trivial or miss out on or simply forget about. This is especially troublesome for more puzzle-like levels.

Edit: And rewatching the stream now (only caught the start and end of Devlin playing my level (+ the levels after mine)), I think I see what the problem with my hint room is.

It looks like the other launchers are supposed to drop (where Mario is standing), so it looks like it's either broken or something else needs to happen in that room to let you out. Should have put some ground right above the launchers so it was clear a path wasn't supposed to open up there.

Well, that's one of the problems at least.

Edit 2: Oh and the level name means absolutely nothing, but it is a pretty cool anagram for:

an april fools' day prank

After being Bittrn by submitting Hard levels before I Knocked the difficulty down a bit this week: but after watching these levels maybe I went too far the other way?

I always make my levels middleing to easy. I try and make the most "Mario" levels I can.

I think it's hurting me this time. :(

For our final week before we start whittling down the makers, I'm bringing back one of my favourite weeks from the earlier contests.

Makers are tasked with creating a scrolling shoot-em-up level, making use of the Koopa Clown Car. This should also be an autoscroller (again). How fast or slow you make it is up to yourself.

There are no other guidelines for this week. Lets go out with a bang!

You will have slightly longer to make your level this week (For my own reasons). As such you will have until 8pm Tuesday 17th April to submit your levels to me. This also means that the submission stream will take place that night as well.

Good luck!

There'd better be at least three levels named after R-Type again ;D

I should've thought that maybe other creators would use that idea <_<

Just watched the playthrough - glad Cheeky did the end to my level without the cheese - it took a while to make all the blocks fall in such a way so they don't kill you if you hit the p-switch!

Also, I am not sure if it is quicker, if you get the first key, go through the 'No?' pipe, there is a second key, which means you can do both the water section more quickly and take the door in the Bowser area. That may be the way to get the time record - or some combination of key use... I can't set a WR time myself so it will remain a mystery.

Matt, Bowser should give up a key if you can beat him, so if he didn't it's an error! But Cheeky's right, the idea is that it's a time delay/loop distraction. After a couple of loops you find the vine and you're tight on time.. But if you get the key you take the Bowser door and hit the ground running for the finale. What I would have done is put the exit door over the finish line - if you beat Bowser you'd earned it - but as the keys are interchangeable and there are several earlier on, it would have lead to huge cheesage!

Just caught up with the stream... wow! Congrats to Lime (for topping the table) and Matt (for drawing *again*) :) . Gotta say that I literally lol'd at Pedz' joke  . It was a great show, Dev!

I am a wee bit nervous about the scrolling shooting level this week... but honoured to be battling OSC :) . It is time to build bullets!

I managed to catch a bit of the stream and, yep, that definitely wasn't my best. Despite the bank holiday I ended up leaving even less time to make my level :fp: I'm away for the best part of the weekend but I'll try to work on it during the week. At the very least, the later deadline should help.

Yeah, sometimes real life just gets in the way, dude. Hopefully you'll get a chance to kick-start your gaming and your Makin' :) .
