New browser game - Cookie Clicker - Free

I'd be all for whacking Orteil a fiver or whatever, but having it running in Steam means I can't idle it in Chrome while I'm playing another game, so hard pass!

I do wonder if, as it's a dedicated app, it may run the same way the android version does, where it continues to idle generate cookies even when you don't have the app open.

I believe this was an upgrade you could buy with enough prestige in the browser version so it may be an unlockable in this version too. I'm assuming it'll mostly be the same game.

I wonder if the game's servers could collate the devices used and the hours played to work out how much energy has been spent* globally on cookie clicks over the last few years.

I would quite like to see a new minigame added with the new building. The entire second half of the building list is devoid of actual activity bar buying buildings and levelling up. I didn't understand the stock market until this current ascension and now I love it - I thought the plus and minus was absolute from a standard price and not relative - suddenly I'm making a lot of profit on it now! The garden minigame is still something I'm yet to click with, it just seems boring

It's 5 years since I've even heard the words Cookie Clicker together.

I can't go back...

The browser version seems to be set to glacial speed, I started again and have been on a new run for 18 days and I'm only earning 48bn CPS, yet to even unlock Prisms.

What can I do to speed things up a bit?

edit: The mobile version, by comparison, is waaaay more generous.
