Everyone does want that, you just want good games to be only on Playstation, don't pretend to be something you're not, own it.

Clueless, I've owned the original Xbox and Xbox 360 when they were churning out great exclusives, and I'd be back if they returned to form.

I ditched Nintendo for a couple of generations before they hit form again and their system became worthwhile.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, I played one of the Crackdown games on my 360 when I had one (Crackdown 2? I dunno, so long ago) and enjoyed it for the most part. Bit basic but was pretty fun to be a walking tank. This new ones looks a bit meh, but harmless fun nonetheless.

Aaaanyway what I came here to post was that I'm kind of surprised that in this day and age we have such few games that have destructible environments. When I think back to the Red Faction series, RF1 was revolutionary in being able to deform the levels (particularly in MP, so many fun couch co-op memories) and that was 18 years ago! Red Faction Guerrilla was an amazing technical achievement (if a bit of an empty shell of a game) and that came out 10 years ago.

Basically - where's all the tech advancements gone in gaming? It's 2019 and the things that I thought would be standard are seemingly cast into the archives.

Unrealistic expectations, I guess :(

Play more Battlefield games, tons of destructible stuff in them.

In other words, Preezy wants to go on a rampage in Forza Horizon and smash into a cottage in a Lambo, or maybe destroy that bridge in RDR2 and watch the train fall to its destruction.

Monster.

Yeah I'd forgotten about the BF series

But still, not enough games have environmental damage on anywhere near a level that satisfies me.

Yep, pretty much

In 2019, you should be able to do that if you wanted to, games should be able to cope with that level of interaction. But they can't, and that sucks.

Dude, c'mon man, you've been trolling Xbox Exclusive threads now for years and I mean trolling, not adding anything constructive to the respective threads at all. You also don't seem to even comprehend that people enjoy Xbox Exclusives. I'm gonna enjoy this a lot if its as close to C1 as it looks.

It depends on the game, Destructible environments wouldn't add anything of note to RDR2 or The Witcher 3 and tons of other titles.

I guess I'm just being grumpy and ungrateful. I just love destroying things, it's who I am inside

It's definitely a case by case basis, and something most developers feel isn't needed.
Something on the scale of GTAV's world with destructive environments would be fun. I'm already a monster when it comes to GTA. [Then again, who isn't?]

Earth Defense Force series has amazing destruction. Everything can be levelled. It does look like a game from at least 3 generations ago but thousands of enemies on screen and fully destruction is the pay off. EDF Iron Rain is out in April and looks a little better.

Watched a lot of Crackdown 3 videos on YouTube and apart from IGN who are almost satirising themselves at this point, most people seem to think it's more of Crackdown 1. Which is what most crackdown fans wanted.

Wish my image sig would work

Honestly I'm bit disappointed that it doesn't look stunning but it does look like Crackdown 1 more so than 2 and I can't say no that, really excited to play this game.

I'll get the full game rather than off Gamepass, I want to own this.

I've never played a Crackdown game and I've seen almost nothing about this so far so I should go into this with a pretty open mind.
I'll get it free via GamePass so will give it a try and report back.

With 1 being good and 2 being bad, you can't have a preconceived view going in. As the only 2 titles vary a fair whack on the scale of goodness.
