I don't really have a dog in this fight, I played one of the Crackdown games on my 360 when I had one (Crackdown 2? I dunno, so long ago) and enjoyed it for the most part. Bit basic but was pretty fun to be a walking tank. This new ones looks a bit meh, but harmless fun nonetheless.
Aaaanyway what I came here to post was that I'm kind of surprised that in this day and age we have such few games that have destructible environments. When I think back to the Red Faction series, RF1 was revolutionary in being able to deform the levels (particularly in MP, so many fun couch co-op memories) and that was 18 years ago! Red Faction Guerrilla was an amazing technical achievement (if a bit of an empty shell of a game) and that came out 10 years ago.
Basically - where's all the tech advancements gone in gaming? It's 2019 and the things that I thought would be standard are seemingly cast into the archives.
Unrealistic expectations, I guess
