Sounds like you've not played Crackdown before, its always had lock on with the Left trigger. In campaign you then flick the right stick to select different body/vehicle parts.

It's just a pre-download. I guess it makes sense for MS to advertise the stuff that is on its way to the service as well as things already available.
A bit strange, to have put a download up so early though. And I noticed something on the store page: in the centre of the gun, quite a distinctive "28.11". Makes me wonder if there's going to be a surprise beta on 28th November, and this download is preparing for the installation.

If you pre-order any game that’s months away it does the same thing, as in you get small place holder downloads. I don’t understand why people are confused by this.
"Crackdown 3: New Single-Player Gameplay Footage and Details - IGN First. Microsoft Studios Creative Director Joseph Staten walks you through a section from a new build of Crackdown 3's campaign." - https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/12/20/c ... -ign-first
That preview makes me think the game hasnt progressed much since the first game. - Not too impressed TBH. But i guess the proof is in the playing.Hopefully there will be a demo. Im not holding much hope for this.
10 things you need to know about the Crackdown 3 single-player campaign
While the focus of our time at Microsoft was on Wrecking Zone, we were lucky enough to get a little time with a current-build of the single- player campaign. It’s been under wraps since June 2017 – that’s the last time it was shown to the press and public – and we are happy to report that it has come on in leaps and bounds. The combat looks dynamic, the graphics look sharp and the framerate stable. The delay has clearly done the game wonders, giving the developers the time and space to really make Crackdown 3 the best game that it can be.
