Eesh, Metro’s view is damning. Such a shame for a franchise like this, would be a perfect fit for Insominac but I can see this franchise coming back anytime soon.

I watched a bit of the Digital Foundry review. For the first time I properly registered the game’s neon aesthetic. Also I like the idea of these high vertical levels and completely destructible environments, which I can’t think of another game that does that (maybe Syndicate Wars?) So the novelty factor makes me want to give it a go. Some games are mediocre but have a fun mechanic.

The reviews ain’t all bad... Gamespew gives it an 9/10.

Crackdown 3 is the sequel we deserve. It takes everything that made the original game so great and expands upon it, leveraging the power of the Xbox One to make the experience bigger and better. New Providence is varied and interesting to explore, your agent is a pleasure to control and upgrade, and more importantly, Crackdown 3 is just fun.

This is brilliant...

Just pure crackdown fun.

I watched a few reviews of it and it just looks like Saints Row 4 and Agents of Mayhem.

I haven't played much of AoM, but what I played didn't seem to me to be very much like SR4.

Lost six and a half hours to it. Great fun. I've almost maxed out strength, but have hardly put anything into driving - which doesn't seem useful except for collecting the cars in the supply menu.

I'm the same driving is bloody pointless.

Love the weapons and the enemy variety. It is just the same old crackdown, but really it's what everyone wanted. Glad it's free on game pass, glad I've got it and really enjoying it.

A few little issues though... Had a few little bugs and why oh why hire an actor to voice the main character then get him to have only a few lines and set his default volume as "TV on next door which I can just make out they are watching Eastenders"

Driving has always been pointless in Crackdown. You can jump over buildings, for Christ's sake.

The transformering cars were fun though. The truck strawberry floating smashed gooseberry fool and the jeep drove up walls.

Only drove 1 car so far which I drove into a base running enemies over. Loving it so far, it's good old Crackdown. Had to drag myself off it to eat.

So I finally made it to the final boss, having cleared everyone else out. How you're meant to survive I have no idea. Complete devastation.

Also ran into a glitch where I got stuck within the structure of a pipeline, which was fun. Thankfully all it required was a fast travel to get out.

Final boss already? How long is the game 4 hours?
