Crackdown fan and guy who leaked the Playground Games acquisition has been tweeting about it, whether he's been leaked stuff or found stuff in the various files he found, who knows.

If that's the case then surely they'd have shown it instead of the janky single player gameplay they've been showing off.

While I'm admittedly not a fan of the series the multiplayer destruction looked incredible.

The destruction might be done (or the bulk of it for it to be tinkered with later when all of the different components come together) but perhaps something else isn't for online so it'd still not be possible to demonstrate to the public.

They demonstrated it to the public in 2014 though, since then, nothing.

Was it even genuine? Or was it taken back to the drawing board and since scrapped?

Probably scripted gameplay like the Kinect reveal. I don't think many have ever demonstrated real gameplay of any game during an event, it's pretty rare.

Without been overly negative are people still interested in this game?

I get it the Xbox doesn't have many console exclusives so it might do well in sales but the long development cycle and delays surely will hurt sales.

Why are so many games still sticking to four player online co-op (unless you're Gears of 4 :x ) when we've got competitive multiplayer with like hundreds of players?

Nothing that guy has tweeted is anything new or interesting or exciting. The best experience is going to be on the Xbox One X? This is a surprise. The world is bigger than previous games? Amazing! When will people stop thinking a larger area equals a better game?

Me too. I was one of the minority of people who loved Crackdown 2 though. Frankly they could do the same thing again, fill the same city full of new orbs and let me hunt them down and I'd still have a ball.

Loved Crackdown 1 and to a lesser extent 2 so still very interested. Helps it'll be free on Gamepass as well. The cloud MP is a bonus if they pull it off.

I live for the day when this metric loses all relevance and is looked on by future generations as akin to judging quality of foodstuff by the size of plate required.

The joke is that there will be no future generations and we're all going to suffer through the end years of a decaying capitalist society before it eventually eats itself and we are left to fend for ourselves amongst the scraps.

I'd like to think we'll all look back on 'X game has a map Y times bigger than Z' and laugh, though.

But on the plus side we get a new series of Star Trek: TNG so as long as the end of civilisation occurs after that finishes 7 series I think we can all be happy.

Just the 360, or the One/One X (It looks pretty lovely in 4K).

The Microsoft website has the game title as 'Crackdown 3: Campaign.' It also says 'Play the campaign solo or with a friend in co-op mode.' So perhaps the multiplayer will be released at a different time.

As someone who found the first Crackdown a great experience, I've been waiting to see what this one would be like. In roughly six hours, we'll know, and with the PC requirements now up and the store page getting updated, I'm expecting a solid release date as well.
