I am considering actually buying it. What I've played so far is good and I want to support it so we potentially get more in the future. Though I'm not holding my breath on that one.

I'll be also buying it.

I really want to support it, even if little.

No chance of a Crackdown 4, at least not a game that's THIS old school. I think it's excellent, some of the reviews have been overly harsh, that one about better off playing the original is just plain stupid and attention seeking. It's gorgeous on 1X and I'm really REALLY enjoying my time with it, it's nothing like any game I have already and although the combat is basic, it's fun and does require some tactical nous when taking on a task or an outpost type place.

Yeah just under 10 hours. Helps having it installed on my PC too so could carry on when the missus or daughter were using the TV.

DEV UPDATE 2!

Greetings Agents,

We’re here with another update! There’s a lot more detail in the video below, but here are the highlights:

We’ve heard your feedback and are working to get the high priority issues—Wrecking Zone Party support, Campaign saved games, and unlocked framerate for Co-op — addressed as soon as possible.

We’ve also got a bit of a surprise to tide you over until all of these fixes can be implemented… A new Bonus Content Pack, available now, for free, for all players!

This pack includes the “Quackhammer” weapon, Commander Jaxon’s Ultimate Suit, and the “Linebacker” vehicle. See below the video for details on where to find these in game.

After installing the bonus DLC, you’ll have to do a few things to equip these new Agency goodies:

To look Boom-tastic in Commander Jaxon’s Ultimate Suit: Create a new Agent or head to a Supply Point with an existing Agent, choose Agent Jaxon on the Agent selection screen, and then use the toggle to switch between regular and Commander Jaxon.

To drive in style with the Linebacker vehicle: Get to a Supply Point with a vehicle pad and select the Linebacker from your available inventory.

To equip the Quackhammer: Access any Supply Point, open the Loadout screen, scroll to the very bottom of the left hand column and select the Quackhammer.

Enjoy these new Tools of Justice Agents, keep the feedback coming, and we’ll be back with another update early next week!

Thanks again,

The Crackdown 3 Development Team

Finished the campaign last night. Also discovered you can start a new city file with your agent and start the game completely overpowered, which is fun.

Hope they do Keys To The City for this.

I spent a good while yesterday on an orb hunt. Annoyingly just missing a couple in West Port. I know where one of them is, but can’t reach it yet.

And I spent a stupid amount of time trying to drive the Spider up a tower to get a stunt ring. There’s bound to be an easier way, but I’d set my heart on achieving it this way, and I’m too stubborn to quit. Got there in the end.

I've played about an hour of this where you travel into the city, take down the beaming holograms and then the first boss fight. So far the moves and jumping from roof to roof feel alright but the world and the basic tasks seem so blah, uninspired and the gameplay is dated. What with the neon colours, comic drawing cutscenes and the authoritarian game world it all seemed really familiar, then it clicked, it looks and feels like Infamous. I'm not saying they copied it but the game world feels the same and to be honest I thought Infamous was a bit of a dated grind. I'm not sure I can go back to it, but the Digital Foundry video of multiplayer makes me want to give that and the driving a try.

I then found a video from someone else who sees the similarity, Colt Eastwood is an Xbox cheerleader (I actually quite like that he's so brazen with it). He regularly compares Xbox exclusives to PS4 exclusives. In a video featuring footage of Spiderman he declared scores and sales don't matter. He gave Crackdown 3 a score on the higher end and declared the other reviews mis-reviewed. Here he compares Crackdown 3 with Infamous: Second Son, which released almost 5 years ago. I don't want to spoil the surprise but... he finds Crackdown 3 to be the better game.

CU 1 Patch Notes

Co-op Performance improvements:

We also improved performance during particularly long co-op sessions.
We are still investigating other fixes, including the 30 fps lock.

Co-op save games fixes:

Backing out of the World Select menu no longer overwrites the original selection.
Co-op campaigns should now prompt for an empty save slot to avoid overwriting existing world data.

Players should no longer have incorrect prompts to be removed from co-op session.

When playing co-op, if one person leaves or drops a timer will start, notifying you before it takes you back to the main menu. This was popping up incorrectly for some people in active co-op sessions but should no longer be an issue.

Niemand’s air lift open for business.

There was a small chance if you died during the Niemand fight, that the air lift to return to the boss arena would not be opened properly. This has been fixed.

Tanks bring more BOOM!

The Annihilator and Minotaur have had their projectile blast radius corrected to better match their explosive visuals.

Propaganda Towers only rotate one way.

The rotating platforms on propaganda towers will no longer hitch a few feet backwards during their rotation.

Gaming mice no longer impact menu FPS.

Fixed an issue where mice with high refresh rate/DPI were causing severe FPS loss in menu and occasionally in game.

Other Misc. Fixes:

Fixed a rare case where vehicles would be catapulted away during collisions.
Fixed issue with supply points not changing to blue in co-op.
Tons of audio and VO fixes.
Lots of other tiny fixes.

Crackdown 3 finished in under 7 mins, Spoilers obviously -

Finished it myself in a slightly longer time (15hrs) yesterday, loved it, hopefully there's another one but I doubt it. Got Justice Has Been Served achievement (Neutralize every enemy asset in New Providence in a single world), might pop back in at some point to get 1 or 2 of the final roof top races gold, there was one I struggled with a lot.

If you played the Wrecking Zone beta check your Xbox messages. A stackable one month of Game Pass should be yours. If you turn on recurring billing you get an extra month.

Just read someone saying this is the Spiderma for Xbox. Good god.

Anyway, it’s fun, bit clunky, but addictive.

Only thing - I’m sure the first trailer had a complete destructible city. Building falling into buildings...

Did that get canned?

Yeah, that's been brought up a lot. That was a tech demo, which they did label it as at the time to be fair, which never really played out and now exists purely in the multiplayer levels at a much lesser scale.

TBH, how you'd work in a proper single player game with varying objectives in a city that is now rubble is beyond me.

Wasn't it envisaged for the MP only? BUT! I could see it working in SP the same way Rockstar make going on a rampage work in GTA games - you start kerploding the city and now you have to deal with the ever increasing threat of being stopped by law enforcement. So destruction is still an option but it doesn't further the game proper. Obviously that's not a great, sole reason for it to exist, but if it already existed for the MP, and they could work it into the SP, then that could be one way it worked. Maybe.

Just watched the Crowbcat video and there is so much missing that was in the original game. Do we know the details about what caused the troubled development?
