Yeah I've got used to it now. I just think they have found their confidence in their writing, they always seemed a bit hesitant to me to really say what they were thinking but not now. They are no longer Edge Lite, they have found their own ground and I now look forward to it popping through my letterbox more than Edge.

'Stolen' from OPM. They used to be king of the celeb, sport & industry interview - usually involving a restaurant & fancy black & white photographs.

That's what I think is currently missing from magazines, & something only EDGE really brings. A gravitas. An importance.

EDGE: 30,164 (previously 31,304)
Games TM: 22,284 (01-Jan-2007 to 31-Dec-2007)

 I'm worried for both of them.

EDGE has been 30,000 for practically forever. It doesn't move much at all.

Don't. They're both fine. Both are well-supported within the industry and both do well from advertising.

It is a massive pity that two of the best mags don't sell more, but neither is going anywhere, not for a long while yet.

Good, because those are the only games magazines I buy every month. :) I'm doing my bit to reward good games journalism and high production values!

Of course, Xbox World had its sub axed alongside PSW. With OPS2 no longer around, you'd think there'd be a 'space'.

Does that mean you can't subscribe to xbox world?

I don't know that much about games journalism, having only read n64, ngc, ngamer and EDGE, all of which have subscription options.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Edge can't sell more because it simply isn't accessible enough. It's too straight & industry focused that many - even people who are really into gaming & the industry -will find quite boring.

Anyone else noticed all Future's gaming titles are a standard 114 pages? They've been cut. Again. What's Imagine like in comparison?

That would be correct. As far as I know, 3 of Future's gaming titles don't currently have subscriptions. PSW (no surprises there), Xbox World 360 & the Official PSP Magazine.

gamesTM is still a generous 180 pages. Granted, I may be a little biased, but for my money it's the best value mag out there.

As for Imagine's other titles, I can't speak for all of them but the current issue of X360 - in which there's an excellent feature about Live Arcade ;) - is 132 pages.

This is strawberry floating outrageous:

PSW Magazine Blog wrote:Get the latest copy of PSW for the first info and screens on God Of War 3 plus we expose the game's on sale date! It's sooner than you think!

It's been a busy issue, we flew to California to be the first mag in the world to report on EA's Godfather II, plus we play Killzone 2's multiplayer, there's a hands-on with Resident Evil 5 and the world's first play test of Guitar Hero World Tour!

Don't miss our free supplement either, the guide to the Hot 100 Games coming to PS3, inside are new screens and details on Aliens, Infamous, Resistance 2 and 97 other massive releases heading your way in the coming months.

Between games of Pro Evo 09 (which is in our next issue, on sale 11 September - first verdict and all) we managed to write up previews of Fallout 3, MotorStorm 2, Dead Space, Call Of Duty: Word At War and Far Cry 2. Barry exhausted himself on a first play of THQ's epic DarkSiders too, his only respite was the promise of a visit to Eidos to see the new Batman game (again, featured in the issue on sale 11 September).

Right now we're gearing up for Liepzig and all the fun and games that'll bring, Pro Evo 09 is playing itself (Be A Legend mode, the ultimate armchair experts way to play).

Lastly, thanks to the PSW readers for making this a great year so far. We're officially the fastest-growing PlayStation 3 mag on the shelves, before too long Bramble will be running for London Mayor [You certainly will with that amount of spin. PSW is the worst selling PlayStation magazine. FACT. - KK]. Or the Newcastle equivelent. Kevin Keegan best watch out. Oh, a special mention to those readers who have badgered me online for games of Rainbow Six and COD4 - I will make the matches (I just need to get the Platinum Trophy in Uncharted first).

Seriously, watch out for PSW breaking the biggest new games in the coming months, we've got something particularly special lined up for September...

As I said on GamesRadar, their big GOW3 feature is absolute bollocks.

Can't blame them for trying to sell, though. :| I expect magazines in a dire state to twist their words.
