I guess, like Saville, removing/deleting all associated content is a way of deleting MJ from people's minds. He may not profit from it any more, but I can understand why radio stations etc would no longer wish to celebrate the man through his music. Something they should have done years ago to be fair if they truly believe it's the right thing to do.

The art/artist question is a tough one. Depends on the offences, the quality of the art, and nothing is black and white (no pun intended.)

Do we stop listening to Bowie because he shagged teenagers, for example? It's easier to forget Glitter, because the art was poor and the offences were worse. But statutory rape is still rape.

I strawberry floating hate that phrase (Not about you Preezy!)

It's such a saccharine dress up of the issues.

Other than being creepy, there isn’t much Savile stuff anybody would want to watch though. I guess repeats of TOTP on BB4 but even then he’s hardly missed.

Jackson, paedo or not, made some great music. And as he is now dead there is nothing in it for him anymore.

I’d cut out the Lostprophets from any future TOTP repeats, but if H from Steps dies in prison then I’d have less of a problem with them showing the performances/videos.

I do know what you mean though. It is hard to separate the artist from the art. But Wagner still gets played and it is pretty uncontroversial to play his music. Maybe it is just a matter of waiting until the crimes are a distant memory?

Using N1FFF logic, the Lostprophets guy must be innocent as they once did a Blue Peter style video with lots of children in.

Just had to Google the Wagner stuff; I was completely unaware, somehow.

Sucks that it's being removed from all future DVD releases

But it does mean my original boxset will now increase in value. :datass:

Yeah a lot of people's perception of Wagner was down to him being Hitler's favourite composer and therefore Wagner himself was innocent. On further looking, however, Wagner's own beliefs on race and in particular the Jews are very questionable.

And he had hair. Which is the most important way to assess whether someone is creepy and bad or not.

Is it only now you feel this way?

I don't think I'd really ever considered it before to be honest, his trial was a long time ago now and he was acquitted after all, but it's also probably a bit of double-think in my own head so I could subconsciously allow myself to still enjoy his music even though was a bit of a weirdo. But now that I'm pretty convinced of his guilt it's crystalised my thoughts a lot more, including my conscious decision to shun his music.

That's a shame. His annoying accent and long hair just creeps me out. U can tell he's a bad person, but I will still enjoy his music whenever I listen to it.

I love that video, Hexx, but I'm struggling to see how they could get Morgan Freeman or David Attenborough to provide a bit of context before each MJ track on Spotify

I thought you'd comment she used person of color!
