If you visit other friends' pages (i.e. if you click on that friend on your friends list) and ask them questions, you can only ask a max of three before you need to bribe them with a sweet to continue.

If they come to visit you there's no limit to the questions you can ask.

Likewise if you just use your friend to ask questions that your own Mii would ask you, I don't think there's a cap.

Go to peoples homes. Bribe them with sweets. Got it.

I suppose in hindsight it's not a surprise this is as good as it is. We're just seeing a combination of stuff here that Nintendo has always been good at, on a platform that is accessible and widely-used enough to make the package successful.

Nintendo have done this all before. The Miis are obviously nothing new. Visiting houses, asking questions, completing missions, changing your outfit - it's like a stripped-down Animal Crossing. I await the update that allows you to modify the innards of your house. Nintendo has been Miifoto-ing since the days of the Game Boy Camera. The entire concept of the questions within Miitomo suggests the Everybody Votes Channel was a test version of this but with fewer users.

Now it's on mobiles, with millions of users already on-board, Nintendo are able to implement the big-picture, mass-player stuff they've always had in mind, but never had enough users to make work properly. Could be interesting to see if this is only to be a very-well-presented rewards scheme & system, or a sign of things to come.

For shame those of you on Twitter who haven't returned my following, or accepted my friend request via this from recommended friends.
For shame.

Spot-on. Miitomo is strongly based upon Tomodachi Life which, whilst being a good seller on the 3DS, never gained too much recognition. Suddenly a version appears on phones and everyone is talking about it!

It is good fun but I wonder how Nintendo will approach this. It has been terrific for building recognition of the Mii and Nintendo brands, but it isn't doing anything to make money. I'm new to mobile gaming but I already feel a bit ill about the constant "spend, buy more, watch adverts!" style that seems to dominate. I fear that Nintendo will end up doing what every other mobile publisher is doing and seek to drag as much money as possible out of consumers. That's business, I guess.

Man, I feel like a right grump writing that. Perhaps I'll re-focus on the fact that Miitomo is pretty cool :) .

Well, I have a Dan in my friends list, who's favourite colour is pink and he enjoyed working Summer camps in New York.

I expect in app purchases are on the way, but hopefully they will be handled in some way that it won't be a blatant cash grab. I've mentioned it before, but that Rusty's Baseball F2P game Nintendo did does something really interesting with in app purchases. I wouldn't be adverse to paying money if it alters the experience in good way.
