I like what they did at the end of the episode. Hopefully it will get better for here on in.

Watched the new episode and it's a huge set-up for a final effects filled bonanza.

The Emperor/now Captain is going to pretty much wipe the Klingon homeworld from the map in a show of force unlike anything we may expect from the Federation.
I wonder how far the crew is willing to go, will they accept orbital bombardment of cities and the destruction of entire continents?

It's so stupid - but that was still one of the their better episodes

Let's beam through shields at the start!
Why are they there with a mad-on for Lorca?
The Klingons have won the war => The Klingons have advanced lots and looking likley to win
Everyone being so pally to Tyler...a person who doesn't exist and killed a crew mate yesterday. Compared to Burnham's cold shoulder?
There were 80,000 Federation on board...and now just 287 Klingons?
"The resemblance is uncanny" - You just spent ages talking about how Lorca fooled you all for years!
Wow. Terraforming is really quick. Lucky they had those 30+ terraforming devices just laying about.
I thought they'd just sort of rounded off the spore stuff (and why no one uses it) last week - but now they've made any entire moon of spore fuel?
Guys! No one suspect that the surprise return of a long dead captain might have something to do with the mirror universe we visited yesterday where her counterpart was the Emporor ok? These things are entirely unrelated.

Georgiou will prepare a course of action to win the war- Burnham will mutiny again in a mirror of the premier. But this time she's placing Federation ideals above pragmatic approach to survival. Look how she's grown!

I agree with you mostly but this bit I can understand. The base was overwhelmed and everyone executed and the Klingons just left a skeleton crew aboard to help with running the station and turning it into a Klingon stronghold.

I think the ending will be some kind of proposition to the Klingons to retreat from Federation space of the home world will face dire consequences and they will indeed pound a few military installations into dust. They will refrain from doing anything super shocking and I think they may indeed be involved in some kind of action which results in the saving of a bunch of Klingons at the cost of many crewmembers lives as Klingons love that sort of thing. There will be some kind of reset as this version of reality is getting so far from the Prime timeline that it can't possibly be explained away.

Enjoyed it again this week. Such a shame it’s about to finish. I’m concerned that they will just succeed next week and the Klingons will just go ‘oh my god, quick retreat’. Then next series everything will be hunky dory and the federation will have just recovered all their lost space.

I can't see how the Federation can work with the Klingons for quite a while after they've killed so many civilians and none-military related people.

Wait a minute.

If they can grow new spores, why not just try to time travel again back to the right point in time?

Yeah i thought this as well. Maybe they haven't perfected the ability to time jump accurately but Stamets told the admiral that jumping into the middle of the planet was a piece of piss (i think that was the exact words) so maybe he can now jump with accuracy and that may apply to time as well.

One other thing i didn't think of when watching the show was why did the Admiral want Lorca as soon as they teleported to the discovery. I assume there's something else in that which may bring in the prime universe lorca being a live or something.

I assume the time travel aspect can only be activated with a huge explosion that risks the entire network so not something they would want to do again.

They have Captain Killy anyway so defeating the Klingons should be a piece of piss.

Time travelling makes a mockery of many a shows in the end.

What hurts the most is big reset button that usually comes after the timey wimey shenanigans.

Voyagers best arc was completely killed by it.

The ending of that episode was so strawberry floating stupid. What could possibly go wrong with that assignment.

I like the pace of this show. They really squeeze as much out of the episode as they can.

The episode started off pretty good. It kinda got worse as it got further into it.

We need alternate universe costume Tilly back.

We need a surprise visit by Sisko in the Defiant and Picard in the Enterprise D.
I'm sure they can explain it somehow. Maybe Q could be involved.

Discovery would be infinitely improved by a John DeLancie appearance.

So finale....pretty crap. SO many bums on show though

Pretty bad as finale...very limp as well. Little action, drama, fights - some overly sincere moralising it hasn't earned presented and climax of storylines...

I think the problem is (and I've said it before IIRC) the writers have got a series of plot points, shocking moments or "scenes" they want - but have no idea how to connect or context them into an ongoing story.

e.g. Shocking Georgiou moment last week, then Burnham baits her to reveal (why not say?), then G just tells everyone she needs to, then Burnham skirts over it in her public argument with Admiral Genocide

Or two weeks ago Ash chose to be human, then we had the nonsense scene of everyone supporting him, then we had Stammets saying maybe he is human, then we have this week "I've been rejected by humans, better go with L'Rell!".

Or Georgiou's got the bomb! Can we beam her/it up...NOW!?!? We can't. Well TP me back. We'll have a conference call. Sort out some admin. Then TP down (near her and I'll get there). I'm sure she won't do anything in the meantime....

Pretty stupid plot beats again.

Georgiou has gone to the "mustache twirling" school of 'blending in'...

Didn't think of it last week - but yeah why did they go to Evil Emperor, rather than Tyler for info?

Orion district with a mix of races all scummy and scoundrally? Doesn't sound like Klingon's we've seen to date (and doesn't tie in with Qo'Nos is a unknown location...surely they could shake someone down that's visited...?)

Imagine it being your job to green up someone's bum crack.

Discovery can't scan the planet and realise the Volcanoes are active?

That's a mighty small planet destroying bomb...and Discovery has a few of them just lying about?

Watch the last guy in the stand up mutiny scene. He's totally just doing it because everyone else is!

So the Klingons are about to destroy the Federation...and just back off? Seems odd but they had to wrap it up somehow.

Wait...why are these guys (and the dead Doctor for some reason) being honored? No other crew? Not even the bridge crew (except Saru)?

So Burnham was publically hated...and now has been publically redeemed...but...do people know why? Do they know about the genocide she stopped to end the war? How does this work?

People are very happy given the war's killed 100ks and smashed large parts of their infrastructure...

That nostalgia bait though!

Just catching up on the last few episodes and yeah if you're on about the big fight in episode 13 then that looked pretty bad :dread:
