The finale was visually amazing, but even ignoring canon the storytelling taken on it's own was pretty all over the place.

That's what most people seem to be hating (although Spock/Ethan Peck can go off on sabbatical)

But we'll probably still get the Burnham Power Hour.

The Section 31 show won't be entering production until after Season 3 is finished, and will be set after Season 3, so presumably at some point in Season 3 the crew (Or at the very least Georgiou) will come back in time to either the Discovery era, or an era closer to TNG/DS9/VOY when Section 31 are still around.

Yes, looking that way. It's not clear if that will be the case for the entire season or just the first few eps though.

The last episode of The Orville has some of the most Star Treklike music ever :D .

The episode is Path not Taken about what happens when the mind wipe of Commander Kelly doesn't work and she remembers the future when she's sent back in time and doesn't go on a second date with Ed but for me the music is the real star of the show.
It's pure Trek nostalgia with some amazing orchestral scores that just put a huge smile on my face  .

Seriously, if you don't love the music in this episode then I'm not sure what to say as it's downright perfect  .

What a wonderful way to end what's been an amazing second series.

10/10.

The Orville has had an excellent second season. I hope it gets picked up for a third.

I just love that it's pretty much just rich guy with stacks of cash makes the Trek series he wants and it's been amazing  .

Maybe more rich fans should do fan homages.

I'm also really looking forward to series 3.

The Orville really is such a better Star Trek than Discovery has managed so far.

I've watched all of Season 2 on Sky, but think I'll pick up the Blu-Ray when it comes out just to show further support for the series. Plus it'll probably have some nice special features.

So much for "We'll do better" and "We will respect canon this time".

Discovery continues to more than rightfully earn it's place as the worst Trek series and the writers continue to prove they don't understand the first thing about what makes Star Trek special.

They better undo this by the end of the season and show this was basically an incorrect future caused by someone messing with the timeline and they restore the actual correct timeline, ala Enterprise when Archer is removed from the timeline and it temporarily screws the 31st Century until they correct the mistake.

The strawberry float are you banging on about? There's no canon at that point to mess with, and I think you're just being miserable for the sake of it.
