New World is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Amazon Games set to be released on September 28, 2021.The game was previously scheduled to release in May 2020 and subsequently August 2021, but was delayed to its current date. Set in the mid-seventeenth century, players colonize a fictional land modeled after the Americas. The game will be using a buy-to-play business model, meaning there will be no monthly subscription fee.

Haven't seen a thread posted yet, but pre load for this is tomorrow. Myself and a lot of WoW refugees are very tempted by it!
Anyone else?

Nah, It took me 10 years to shake EVE-O, not a chance I will be hitting another mmo. From what I have seen it does look interesting, I just cant be doing with swords and sorcery.

I haven't played an MMO in about 20 years.
The Legend of Mir, I ended up hating it because it was full of twats and you couldn't change class and had to start from level 1 again and levelling was a pain in the arse.

And just like the real colonisation of the Americas, the land is free for the taking and only populated by uncivilised monsters :toot:

Amazon games 8-)

Yeah, it looks like they're trying to dodge the worst aspect of colonialism by not having nativex but I'm not sure if the angle they've taken with the monsters makes it worse....

There are more reports of nvidia cards getting bricked with this game and it's not just EVGA, there from Asus, Zotac and Gigabyte. I would be a bit concerned with this if I played it. There is a video of a Zotac casrd with smoke coming out near the back plate.

How have the developers managed that? I thought cards would generally shut themselves off if pushed too hard.

Peeps are blaming the card manufacturers but how the strawberry float a single game is doing this I have no idea. It is starting to make makes furmark look like an amateur at destroying cards.

Speaking to some of my MMO friends about this, and I haven't touched it so this is all second hand info, but it was described to me as "just Eureka, but somehow worse".

Just watched a few minutes on Twitch and it doesn't appeal to me at all. Loads of players running around shooting/slashing/zapping enemies in a visual mess that is hard to make sense of and seemingly just grinding out the usual experience points, item collections and whatever else that makes me want to fall asleep.

I've been playing it since launch with some real-life friends, Bar some day 1 server queues it's been running fine.

Really enjoying it, a lot more relaxed than a normal MMO quite a bit of focus on PvP with the settlements and forts to control the territory, the fact it's £35 and that's it without any subscription fee means I can jump in and out without much worry.

So, I've had to change all my settings to low and capped at 60 FPS and It's still crashing my PC every 30 minutes. I'm terrified it's going to brick my GPU. I've tried requesting a refund, but I'm well past the 2 hours Steam allow. I spent 5x that in a queue to play the bloody thing. I'm hoping an actual human will get to look at my request rather than an automatized bot, but we'll see...
