How are you seeing in the new decade?

At the moment I have no plans at all and I hope it stays that way.

Staying in with the wife and probably playing on our Switches. I'll be progressing through LM3 and she'll be playing Tropical Freeze (with occasional assistance from yours truly).

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Sitting inside with alchohol, playing pokemon probably.

It was a year ago that we found out my missus' dad had terminal cancer, so not really a date for celebrating unfortunately.

Supposed to be having people over tonight (First New Year in our new house) but my Wife isn't feeling too great right now so it might be cancelled.

If that happens I'll probably pop round my sister and Brother-in-laws for a few drinks later tonight.

Either that or I'll sit at my PC drinking red wine and playing Zelda/Metroid randomisers or Fallen Order/Impossible Lair.

Going to some friends for the evening who live a couple of hours away, then coming back tomorrow. There will be quite a few people and children there so thankfully we're staying in a handy travelodge just round the corner so when I have had enough of other people (probably about 5 minutes after midnight) I can retreat there and go to bed.

Supposed to be going round a friend's for board games but I'd rather stay at home and be quiet.

We decided to go out this time, so got (paid) tickets to our local pub who are having live music on. Yesterday they announced all tickets are now free, so we asked why and if we could have a refund. Turns out the musician has cancelled, and as I'm ill we're going to go there for when it opens, get our money back and walk straight back home.

Ive always found new year pretty depressing, so I'm well happy we're not doing the pub now. Evening of games and booze at home then

Me too, I think it's this naïve and forced optimism that suddenly everything will be fine and wonderful just because the dates have changed that gets to me, that it's some sort of grotesque masquerade that everyone puts on because that's what we are supposed to do. Against the backdrop of the last year and what that means for the future it rings especially hollow.

Having a bunch of friends with kids round ours, have a meal together and playing a bunch of games. Probably doing "fake new year's" earlier in the night for the kids and then I imagine everyone will actually leave before the real thing!

I’m meant to be going to my sister-in-law’s family but I’ve got a migraine coming on so we’ll see if I make it or if I just sleep through the bells.
