Yep, I had a great night out on Christmas Eve one year but it totally ruined Christmas Day and since then I've avoided it.

I always do something on Christmas Eve. Nothing wrong with being a little hangy on Christmas Day - it's nothing a proper roast dinner doesn't sort out.

New years is a bit crap. I thought I had actually escaped it this year as people kept pulling out and changing their plans, but no such luck. Hopefully I can slip away at 1.

Have settled on wine, gin and beer at home, with a cooked meal and a film, which is looking like the Irishman at the moment.

Staying in i can't think of anything worse then going out on NYE places are rip off to get in, taxi's rip people off. Pub's full of idiot youngsters. A pub near me is charging £35 entry for food and a DJ :fp: does not justify that price IMO

I hope that beer is before the wine because otherwise you’ll be feeling queer tomorrow :capnscotty:

Yeah, okay, please don't do that.

Anyhow, just poured myself a drink...

I think the same can be said for most people who live there! I've been twice years ago and it was bad enough, and that was before all the ticketing and barrier shite started. Got more of it to look forward to here tomorrow with the Loony Dook

Anyway, just going to be playing some board games with the kids before packing them off to bed, then will have a few beers and try and pick a film to watch. Rock and frickin' roll.

Happy New Year, folks, all the best for 2020 :)

Oh bloody hell. The problem with drinking at home is that it's too easy. I'm sloshed.

Just went down the pub, got our refunds, bought a few drinks with it and then came home. I'm currently having an enormous gooseberry fool, then we're having wine and fizz and watching music.

And I like the hootenannaaaay :capnscotty:

I'm on call for work all night so can't go out or really have too much to drink. Had a few Jägerbombs and might have another couple later but that'll be about it :(
