Sorry this is going to sound wanky.
I know what you mean but you do get that new year energy and sense of focus. It’s the only time most people get a decent rest, you get 25 days of holiday a year which you spend either doing an activity / holiday or dealing with annoying bullshit and go to work more knackered than you left, Crimbo is the only time you get to lay-in, go to the gym and time to reflect – so you I get why a lot of people go into the new year feeling confident.
I’ve made a list of achievable things I want to do in 2020 which I will stick to – but some people might make resolution they won’t stick to get fit, quit smoking but it’s better than nothing they’ll at least have a go. For me last year was the worst of my life, if I was still right in the pocket of ptsd and depression a new year wouldn’t mean much and you don’t have to wait until a new year to recognise destructive patterns and make positive changes but I had already turned a corner and have nice things to look forward – so it is nice to draw a line under 2019 and be fairly confident 2020 is going to be better. So yeah I'm getting that Amy Winehouse tattoo
