If you want to, you can always expand your budget. Most people who buy new console/such tend to do this (in 2009/2010 at least)~

Four days till PS Vita!

So hyped for this now, I love new hardware.

The launch line up does indeed look very strong as well - a few titles out that i'm not sure about, like the look of Army Corps of Hell, anyone played it yet?

Had a quick go of the PS Vita yesterday, by quick I really mean quick because I realised this kid with puppy eyes was wanting a go. Yet a minute or two was all it took for me to wish I was getting one. I was honestly shocked by how good the graphics are on it.

GamesTM gave it a 4.

IGN gave it a 7 but basically slated it for being shallow and incredibly repetitive - I loved the look of it being a LittleKingStory meets Pikmin style, but from vids, it seem to have neither of those charms or depth

Almost caved in an bought one from Play Yesterday with their Uncharted offer and I am quite liking the look of the machine. But could not find my debit card, the moment passed and I cancelled. Last night I watched the gametrailers review of Uncharted. This convinced me that I don't need it just yet as the game just looks the same as the PS3 outings and I have had my fill of those for now and do not need to spend 200+ to play another one. I know I'll get one eventually as the pull will be too much but I know if I wait it will get cheaper.

It's cocktail time!. Then again when isn't it.

The Vita is going to be my gateway console back into the world of gaming...I was a massive gamer up until I bought a 360 at launch then for some reason I just kinda stopped (due to know fault of the 360).

I'm thinking the Vita will tide me over til the next-gen consoles start hitting the shelves then I will proper get back into gaming :)

My internet has suddenly starting working fine again. So glad. I was getting worried it'd still be strawberry floated by the time I got my Vita.

You could get a 360 for a lot less and a huge strawberry float load of back catalogue for next to nothing - even a PS3 with it's catalogue of games (it does have some these days) would be a better idea. Not that i'm saying don't get a Vita, but ignoring the ps3/xbox/wii and their catalogues and going for one with next to no catalogue seems an odd choice to get back not gaming

Eh. I would argue that the 200+ PSP games on the PSN would stand for something.

As much as I'd love to advise getting a Vita I have to agree with Dante. If you want to get back into console gaming then my advice would be get a 360s and a Lovefilm trail with games (I'm sure someone here can find a 2 month trail) and you can save a small fortune and have a massive back catalogue.

Sainsburys are going to have a deal where you get the Wi-fi model for £199.99 when you buy either Uncharted or Fifa. I think the 3G model is going to be £249.99 when you buy either game.

Decided to go with this case for my Vita, despite the despatch estimate. It looks to be very much like my 3DS Hori case, which is pretty much perfect for my usage.

I'm guessing there are going to be demos and stuff on PSN for launch right? Maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places but we don't seem to have heard as much as the US have about PSN stuff, like PSP game compatibility? I'm assuming things that are on the US list will be on the UK list...

Nuts, I forgot about ordering a case. I've still got my Hori PSP case so I'll wait to see if it'll fit in that before getting a new one.

Any other extra gubbins that are worth looking at?
