Just looking through Gameplay's release schedule, October is going to be ridicuous. In the space of four weeks we'll see FIFA 09, PES 2009 (whatever's your poison), Fallout 3, Fable II, Far Cry 2 and Red Alert 3. If that wasn't enough, RA3, FC2, Fallout 3 and Fable II have overpriced special editions to scrape even more money off you.

I've managed to whittle my list down to Fable II, RA3, Fallout 3 and FIFA 09, and out of those I'm only getting the Fable II special edition. The Fallout 3 lunchbox is a nice idea, but I don't see how it's worth so much more money than the normal release. As for RA3, an extra £20 for a few extra multiplayer maps, a making of film and a beta key is not what I call value for money.

So then, how's everyone else coping with the month of madness?

I only seem to want Fallout from that list. Accordingly, I've preordered the PC Collectors Edition from Play, because it's much cheaper, and I'll pick up a normal Xbox version on the day of release.

Not owning Fallout 3 on PC to sit alongside my other Fallouts would be a gaming sin, and in the long run, I expect to see a lot of pc-exclusive mod content

It is getting into silly season, but for me personally I'll just be getting Phoenix Wright 3 on the DS and either PES or FIFA on the PS3, and I'm leaving everything else as I won't have time.

It always baffles me to see everything crammed into the last 3 months of the year, especially when even if most people want a large amount of the games they'll never be able to afford them all.

Next month is indeed going to be crazy.

I've been looking for any reason to cut some games from my Oct. list but so far I haven't been very successful, hell most of the previews are making me want the games even more. :(

Anyway, here's my Oct. list...I was planning to buy both Dead Space & FC2 much later this year (possibly early 2009) but the recent GT previews have made them both must have titles...

Fallout 3
Fable 2
Saint's Row 2
Far Cry 2
Dead Space

Add to that a new HD telly for the bedroom as well other expenses...

It's awesome in an expensive way. I've aleady bought far to many of late (WAR, Lost Crown, Spore, Too Human, VP2, TNA).

Really don't need any for ages but there is such quality coming i'll have to get only the best. For me it will be:

Fallout 3
Fable 2
Gears 2
Maybe Banjo to go away for Xmas.

I'll probably just get Fallout 3 and Fable 2 in October, which still gives me about a month to get through my backlog.

I've decided to pick up only 2 or 3, don't know which yet though.

Fable 2
Fallout 3
Saint's Row 2
Dead Space
Far Cry 2

Not to mention Gears 2 coming out only a week after the end of October, I am NOT missing out on that.

Oh jebus.

Things I would *like* to get:

LittleBigPlanet
PES/FIFA (depending on which is best this year)
Bioshock PS3
Fallout 3

Add to that WipEout Pure from the PS Store this month... That's a lot after months of nothing.

Edit - and I've just started MGS4.

I'll get them when I can afford them, which is highly unlikely to be when they are released.

I'll only be getting FIFA 09 and Fallout 3 and might get Fable when the price drops.

Welcome to the Christmas rush, gamers. It's the, er, rushiest one we've had in a loooong time.

LEGO Batman
Fable 2
Fallout 3
Prince of Persia
Gear of War 2
Guitar Hero 4
Banjo Kazooie
LittleBigPlanet
Sonic Chronicles
Phoenix Wright 3
Professor Layton
Wii Music

Plus other 'maybes'.

PES/FIFA 09
Quantum of Solace
Spiderman Web of Shadows
Sonic Unleashed
Call of Duty 5
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3
Mirror's Edge
Left 4 Dead
Dead Space
Naruto The Broken Bond
SimCity Creator
Castlevania: Order of Eccles Cake
Guitar Hero DS 2
MySims Kingdom

My first thought is thank strawberry float I have a birthday in February, and my second thought is god forbid if most of those maybes turn out to be good.

I was looking through this myself yesterday and writing a bit of a shopping list. Initially I thought I would need just one small yellow sticky note...I ended up with six. That's most games coming out between now and Christmas that I'm interested in though, as for my 'actually most definitely going to buy list'...I managed to get that down to about eight. That's still a few too many really, considering I'm going to have to really make more of an effort when I go back to uni soon...got enough other temptations too, nevermind game releases. And yep, October is indeed ridiculous, as four of those eight games all come out then, which is another problem. This is where my plan of action comes into play... ( ) right here it goes:

September: Brothers in Arms:HH and Pure
October: Fable 2
November: Mirror's Edge and Motorstorm PR
December: far cry 2
Christmas break/presents: LBP and Fallout 3.

I should be done with BIA and Pure by the time Fable comes out on the 24th of October and even though Far cry 2, LBP and Fallout 3 come out the same month I'm going to space out when I play them. I'll be keeping Fallout 3 and LBP for Christmas (as hard as that might be!) and Far cry for early December as nothing else comes out then that I want. Come November and the release of Mirror's edge on the 14th I should hopefully be done with Fable and then I'll have two weeks until the release of Motorstorm PR...even so I wouldn't mind playing these games together. So that's my plan, a few more games might make their way into it still but that will depend on reviews and if they actually make it out this year.

If you include November, it does just get silly.

But at least the games I want are more or less spread out so theres a new one (or two) every week, rather than all coming at exactly the same time.

Completely forgot this was also out this year... :(

The first one dropped in price fairly soon after release, didn't it? (I'll probably wait until it drops to £20.)

Not had a look at the 360 release list much, but October and November is indeed silly.

FIFA09
GTAIV (PC)
COD5 (PC)
Mirror's Edge (PC; although this might slip?)
PES09

Not sure about the ones in italics... and I still want to get Spore.

Considering I have bought probably only 2 games this whole calendar year so far, that's a fair few for just 5 weeks worth!

It's a good job Empire: Total War is after Christmas now.

Thankfully many new PC games can be got for £20!

The PC version has slipped to next year, its console only if you want it this year.

That's all I'm really interested in at all over the next couple of months, PoP, Mirror's Edge, and Dead Space are depending on reviews/demos too.
