Gronk :datass:

Usually I book the day off work, stay up all night and get a tonne of snacks in, and generally make a big deal of the Super Bowl. Not this year though, for several reasons, but I’m going to see how long I can stay awake.

No real preference as to who wins, but TB would be interesting.

Yeah it wasn’t a great HT show, very bland and forgettable.

Lots to do for the Chiefs here, TB looking dominant.

Mahomes doing some crazy throws and almost getting them to land!

TB surely gonna cruise from now on?

Mathieu’s such a dick  :fp:

Couple of crazy close-but-no-cigar throws from Mahomes, would’ve been amazing if they’d come off.

Things just aren’t clicking for the Chiefs. Really enjoyed watching TB though.

Quick check of the internet suggest that if Tom Brady were a franchise of his own he’d have more Super Bowl wins than any other team in the NFL. Even the Patriots only have six.

Oh I’d quite forgotten that the Glazer family own the Buccaneers.

I mean, I don’t get the obsession that some people have with always having to define who’s the ‘GOAT’ in every sport, or even every position within a sport, but I don’t know how people can still try and argue against Brady. It’s insane when you look at the stats.

I think the only argument is that he may or may not be a massive cheat, remembering the deflate-gate stuff.

Beyond that though, I mean, he’s won the Super Bowl in three decades, for teams in both conferences. He’s made it to the play-offs in 18 of the 20 full seasons he’s played(nobody can count his first season surely), and to 10 of those 18 Super Bowls. Imagine a footballer who’d won more titles than any club in his league. It’s mental.

This year he had to go through three of the best QBs in the league in the play-offs in Mahomes, Brees and Rodgers, which shouldn’t be forgotten.

I only watched up to the half time and Chiefs were poor.

Brady's achievement is staggering. He said he will return with the Bucs in 2021.

They'll do well to win considering they're not playing :P ;)

I'm going to try and watch as much as I can, working from home gives me a rare opportunity to stay up very late on a Sunday for once and not suffer the consequences as much as I would if I had to show up at the office.

Chiefs to win, if only because I don't like Tom Brady and I hate the Glazers.

First time I've stayed up to watch the whole game. Normally I give up around the half (regretted that the year the Patriots came back against the Falcons). The Bucs absolutely nailed it and dominated while the Chiefs were incredibly disappointing. I appreciate Mahomes was injured but generally they were miles off. Their discipline was awful in the first half when most of the damage was done. I'm not Brady's biggest fan but you have to respect the guy for what he's achieved.

I enjoyed that game I have to say, my vague prediction of never bet against Brady came true so I call that a win. :shifty:

In the Superbowl of food it was brisket Vs Cuban sandwich and I gotta give that win to the Cuban, it was way better than I expected it to be, genuinely delicious. Dont get mne wrong, brisket was great too but I love food in sandiwch form.

The new era for New Orleans.

Brees announced his retirement.

Always fun to watch, dude can sling it, will be interesting to see how the Saints handle things without him. Brady signed a new deal in Tampa, the usual restructure to help the team put some pieces around him. Should be an interesting free agency period.

Yeah it'll be interesting who'll be the No.1 QB for the Saints. Winston? Hil? Or somebody else on the free agency?

Brees joined NBC as a NFL commentary for the new season.

Theyre apparently quite high on Winston so I can see Winston being the starter and Hill still being used for wildcat stuff, that seems to work for them.

If Brees trabsitions as well as Romo has then NBC are on a winner.

Anybody would like to set up a new thread for NFL??

I'm surprised with New Orleans winning 17-0 at the moment against Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers did not look like he wanted to be there at all. Still surprised they didnt trade him and try to get some value out of him because there is no way he will be in Green Bay next season. I know hes a great QB but if he doesnt want to be there he isnt gonna try so its pointless forcing him to or trying to convince him to stay.
