For the 2023/24 season onwards, the NFL Game Pass app will be closing and folded in to DAZN, NFL having signed a 10 year deal with them for international coverage:

NFL Game Pass International provides fans outside the United States live viewing of every NFL game – regular season, postseason, and Super Bowl, and will be available as a standalone subscription or add-on package within DAZN’s app.

The National Football League (NFL) and DAZN Group have agreed to a 10-year partnership to deliver NFL Game Pass International (NFL GPI) to sports fans around the world beginning with the 2023 season.

NFL GPI enables fans outside the USA to watch every NFL matchup throughout the regular season and postseason, including the world’s largest annual sporting event, the Super Bowl.

The world’s leading digital sports streaming service, DAZN is available on most connected devices, including Smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and game consoles. NFL GPI will be available through the DAZN app either as a standalone subscription or an add-on to an existing DAZN package to customers worldwide, excluding China.

With access to DAZN’s direct-to-consumer platform – including its powerful data-driven technology, global distribution network and marketing capabilities – the NFL will be able to grow and engage new audiences over the next decade, building on its growing international fan community.

“Growing the NFL globally is a key strategic priority for the League and our 32 Clubs. We are excited to partner with DAZN to help us accelerate this effort,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“Our goal has always been to make our games available to as many fans as possible, and we are confident that DAZN’s innovative viewing experience technology will best serve millions of viewers around the world while also engaging a new generation of international NFL fans.”

“The NFL is the premier sports media property, and DAZN is incredibly excited that they have chosen us as their international partner,” DAZN CEO Shay Segev said.

“DAZN is the only company that is single-mindedly focused on delivering the very best digital experience for sports fans worldwide and I am confident that we will deliver a superb experience for NFL fans, while helping the league engage new markets and demographics in the sporting phenomenon that is NFL.

"We can’t wait to bring all the drama, passion and excitement that the NFL is renowned for to our customers as we continue to build the ultimate global destination for sports fans.”

NFL GPI offers fans access to live games, events, NFL Network, NFL RedZone, and an extensive library of NFL Films and NFL Media programming, with everything available on-demand to ensure the NFL is connecting with fans in all time zones through its video content.

The NFL and DAZN will work together to drive international distribution through third-party services and offerings.

This deal expands on a long-standing partnership between the NFL and DAZN, with DAZN distributing NFL Game Pass in Canada since 2017 and as a broadcast partner in Germany, Italy and Japan – since 2016, 2018 and 2016, respectively.

I believe Sky Sports' contract runs until 2024/25, so doubtful there will be any current changes to their coverage. Not sure if Sky's NFL games will continue to be blacked out on DAZN though (would presume so).

I think you might've saved the day (and my sanity) with this, KK. More than happy to pay for the NFL Game Pass rather than be subjected to ITV's coverage.

Will be staying up as usual, with hot dogs and nachos to keep me fuelled through until 3am or so :datass:

Usually I tend to have a preference one way or the other in terms of who wins, but I'm not really fussed on this occasion. NFL coverage - even when it was on the BBC - was always a bit awkward to follow, and of course since it's moved to ITV I've avoided it anyway, so any 'narratives' or stories that have developed throughout the season I've been oblivious to as I can't say I've been following the season too closely at all. Just hoping for a close game I guess.

A $16 can of wine. :dread:

During the playoffs I always contemplate booking the Monday off but I haven't this year because the two best teams playing each other isn't actually that interesting to me.

Not that I've ever been able to watch the whole thing without falling asleep anyway.

They sure seem to love their Bud Light over there.

If you can’t bear the thought of ITV’s commentary nightmare, in addition to NFL GamePass, the Super Bowl is also on Sky Showcase (NOW Entertainment pass) and Sky Sports Mix (all Sky customers).

With the exception of Jason Bell, all the NFL talking heads tonight going with a Philadelphia win.

Had both teams to score a touchdown and field goal in each half. Kc hit the post in the first half. Width of the post cost me 170 quid off a tenner. Wounded.

Great game though.

Pretty good game in the end. First half was very back and forth, just trading scores really, and the second half started a bit slow, but gradually built up in action. I found myself rooting slightly for the Eagles towards the end for some reason, but ultimately not fussed about who won. The stats had them really evenly matched coming into the game and it was unusual (but good) to see that reflected in the game and playing out in that way. Always good not knowing which way the game will go right up until the end.

Shout out to KK for the NFL Game Pass idea, as that meant I got to watch the Fox feed and all the ads and American weirdness that went along with it. It's crazy how many ad breaks there are, but it didn't really bother me too much in all honesty, and it's no better or worse than continually cutting to the studio for filler from the pundits.

One thing I always find with the UK coverage is that they always go back to basics and treat the audience like nobody has ever watched American football before, so it was nice to watch the Superbowl without being patronised by the coverage.

The half-time show was very weak and very forgettable, but it was Rihanna, so I didn't really expect much other than that.

Enjoyable on the whole, and it absolutely flew by - sat down at about 11pm to start watching and it was 3:30am before I knew it.

NFL rather generous with the highlights on their YouTube account, including the closing 30 minutes, Rihanna’s performance and trophy presentation:

Registered for tickets for the Patriots game, will see how it goes. Jags having 2 games back to back in London but one is a road game and one is a home game is an interesting turn of events. I dont think we will see a franchise based this side of the Atlantic but I think we could see a (nearly) full slate of 15 or 16 games played in Europe over the course of a season, having teams play back to back would be an interesting way to tackle the travel problem.

NFL Game Pass is now available on DAZN:

DAZN Group, the world's leading sports streaming service, today officially launches the National Football League’s Game Pass (“NFL Game Pass”) on its platform globally.

With NFL Game Pass now live on DAZN, fans from around the world will be able to stream every game live*, including preseason games (from 3 August), the regular season (from 7 September) and the Super Bowl LVIII, plus NFL RedZone, NFL Network, NFL Originals, and DAZN programming and documentaries, as well as much more.

Existing and new customers, who access their accounts before the live schedule begins in August, will be able to view the full suite of NFL archive content and a range of documentaries.

NFL Game Pass will be available to fans either as a standalone package or as an add-on to an existing DAZN subscription. Prices have been frozen by DAZN until at least season start. Fans can now buy and watch in more places and in more ways as well as enjoy new and improved features.

The DAZN partnership with the NFL will improve the viewing experience for fans. Public watch parties will be available from season start for select games, bringing fans around the world closer to the NFL community – enabling them to chat and share the experience live with other fans, creating the communities that the NFL is famed for. For the mega-fan, on selected devices there will be the multi-screen feature, allowing viewers to enjoy more than one game at a time. Polls, stats and ‘Pulse’, an online alert that takes fans straight to key moments in games, will drive greater engagement and a more interactive viewing experience.

With DAZN as its partner, the NFL is now able to reach even more fans. Available in over 250 markets, DAZN has a worldwide presence, complementing the NFL’s ambition to grow its international fanbase and build the NFL into a truly global proposition. NFL Game Pass will be promoted and integrated across the DAZN platform to its 60 million registered users.

With DAZN, NFL Game Pass will be available on over 100 different devices, including – critically – even more big screens, such as gaming consoles like PlayStation 5, and Smart and Connected TVs like Hisense and Sony (See below for a full list of devices). Moreover, with DAZN's global network of distribution partners, fans can purchase NFL Game Pass in many more ways, including through an extensive number of telcos globally (See below for comprehensive list).

Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, said: “Accessibility and innovation is at the heart of DAZN's proposition, and that’s what we will be delivering for the millions of NFL fans worldwide. It’s going to be a whole new ball game, with more ways to watch, more features to engage with, and more great NFL content than ever before. This is a landmark moment for DAZN as we embark on a 10-year partnership with the NFL, focused on showcasing the sport, the fan experience and growth.”

Sameer Pabari, Managing Director, Media, NFL International, said: “NFL Game Pass has established itself as the must-have product for NFL fans around the world. Combining the full breadth of NFL content with DAZN's powerful data-driven technology, global distribution network and marketing capabilities will help us grow NFL Game Pass to reach new international audiences and expand our fandom globally.”

The migration of NFL Game Pass’ existing international customer base begins today; current users will receive an email containing a magic link that will help them access their new account on DAZN.

*There are some restrictions in the UK and Ireland to live coverage of two games per week - the 18:00 and 21:00 Sunday games, which will become available to view on demand on DAZN, 24 hours after the live event. All other games and NFL programming will be available in the UK and Ireland live.

DAZN has apps available for all of the following platforms: Apple TV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire Stick, Amazon Fire Tablet, Android Phone & Tablet, iPhone & iPad, Android TV, LG, Smart TV, Panasonic Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, Sony Smart TV, SmartCast, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Roku, Hisense, Philips, Vestel and Vizio.

I tried it out yesterday and there was a strawberry floating 30 second pre-roll ad when I went to just see what the stream quality was like.

Edit: it’s still there. I went to check did it actually migrate my sub and it did. £151 for this gooseberry fool. strawberry float that. Cancelled.

Edit 2: it seems to have added an extra year to my sub time when cancelling. Now expires 2024. I’ll say nothing

Yeah. It might sound like an odd complaint given how many ads are rammed down your throat in the broadcast, but the fact that it’s a pre-roll one delaying your stream starting by 30 seconds is taking the piss.

I dont think its an odd complaint, youre paying the subscription to access the broadcast, not to watch more ads.
