I think his personality led the owner to ditch him, I'm sure the big money offer was a factor for him as well but rumours are that the owner thought he was damaging the franchise with the way he gets on. The man got results, that's what matters.

He's also only on $5m, which is obviously a lot of money but someone like the Raiders could easily have offered the reported $8m Michigan were going to offer.

There was clearly a huge power struggle going on with the GM, Owner and Jim himself.

Anyway, crazy day in the College Playoffs last night, absolute demolition by Oregon - highlight of that was this fumble returned for a TD:

Ravens 30-17 Steelers.

Ravens have very good record in the play off.

Apparently the refereeing for Detroit - Dallas was strawberry floating awful. Anyone see it?

Only off and on - and went to bed in the third quarter - so didn't see tons. There were a couple of pretty major reversals that the on-field refs got totally wrong.

Cowboys @ Packers should be pretty awesome - give us cold weather and it's another Ice Bowl. Glad Seahawks are hosting Panthers - LoB can hopefully limit Newton's effectiveness given that he's so banged up. At this stage I have a feeling Packers might make the SB though.

Playoff football is always a good finish to the Xmas festivities. Ravens coming to Foxboro is the highlight of next week for me. Always a tough game, thie Ravens seem to be the only team who consistently give Brady fits and make it tough sledding every time, should be a cracker of a game.

I still have a hard time believing Dallas are the real deal, it feels more like Detroit lost that game than Dallas won it, but Ive been wrong about them all year so they could surprise me next week.

Playoff football.

Do Packers have home field or is it Seattle's again? I know they're both at home in the next round, and Patriots have home field in their side of the draw.

Looking forward to all the games next weekend, particularly Seattle vs. Carolina. My friend's a big Panthers fan so I'll try and watch the game with him if I can.

Seattle all the way to the SB now if we stay in it. Which is two games, admittedly. Century Link  Wouldn't know it's one of the conference's smaller stadia.

I'd like to get up to Century Link for a game in the next year or two, not because I especially love the Seahawks but the atmosphere is supposedly incredible. If I ever do my long-planned west coast driving tour I'll be sure to get one in there.

Any team can win the Super Bowl, but I'd love to see the Ravens to win it again. :shifty:

Any team can win it sure, but I cannot see anyone stopping the Seahawks

Anyone else pulling an all-nighter? My Ravens mate is round for the combo. Talk that Wilson is going to be the highest paid QB, which will be interesting for us now given that we need some big receivers still but won't have the money necessarily to get them. Lynch will probably retire this year and needs replacing too.

I'll be up as long as I can be. The Ravens game has not disappointed so far.
