Still enjoying this, but I keep falling asleep while playing it!

I find this is a problem I have with all JRPG's. My daughter was really annoyed last night as she was watching me play, and had to keep waking me up!

Did a lot of leveling up last night. Yule

1 of my Familiers is nearly 5/5 hearts

The world map is so beautiful!

The only issue I have with the game is the guy who wants you to get certain familiers. I spent an hour trying to get one particular one but still can't get it. Need to complete 3 more cards to get the upgrade.

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2

I've had the same problem last couple of nights, was drifting off while laying on the sofa and playing this.

Ended up getting distracted by playing XCom on the PC for the first time last night, think I might move my PS3 upstairs and link it to my monitor then play like that.

Yep, I was saying I found it soporific. I went on it the other afternoon after a cycle and I nodded off

Maybe it's got a hidden song or something which makes you nod off after a while!

That happened to me the first night I played it too

I'm actually finding it perfect to play at night, really nice to unwind to and just enjoy the pretty....until you hit a mental boss battle and need to actually pay attention to what you're doing! I found the same with FFXIII, I think I was the only person that enjoyed the first 25 hours of hand-holding!

Thanks to Schminky for the tip on using Slab as a tank, I've got him onto his next form now and he's proven to be very handy.

Taking a tour of Hamelin at the moment, I think I'm about 28 hours in so far.

Decided to give this another go, it's been a week. I went back to Hamelin to level up by grinding, then back to The Tombstone Trail.

Someone please tell me 'this gets better' because: walking 15 feet > get in a fight > walk 15 feet > get in a fight > walk 15 feet > get in a fight is, more or less, my idea of a thoroughly gooseberry fool game.

It completely interrupts any kind of enjoyment I'm getting from it. The earlier part of the game (up until about 20 hours, or The Fairy Village was good, but it seems absolutely everything in regards to side quests and quirky little things has dried up. I'd say this game is like a job, except I actually prefer going to work.

Ok, so I trudged through The Tombstone Trail and completed it - aside from the boss fight it was a bore fest. However, I realise [SERIOUS SPOILER!] that i was back in time, which explains the complete linearity of the area., so I'll be giving it a few more hours.

It definitely does feel grindy at times. There is a spell you can eventually get, Veil that let's you avoid combat altogether if you want. I can't remember exactly how I got it but I think it was part of Horace the ghost's questline. It also makes it very easy to sneak up on the Toko-type monsters that give insane XP when you kill them, thus avoiding the need to ever grind kills to level up for a boss.

It does.

And, although in my defence I have to say there are really annoying interruptions (particularly the bit I was 'stuck' on, without actually being 'stuck'), the game more than makes up for it...

...I was wrong - the game's brilliant and well worth the effort. It should come with a sticker on the pack saying 'GET MOAR POTIONS' though, because if you've no mana, you're pretty much strawberry floated.

Rarely do I change my mind on a game. Not since Ikaruga anyway.

This game's a gem.

Well! it's all going on now

Read on if you have beaten Shadar for the second time at his place!

The end that wasn't an end. At first I thought, wow this is the end already, 3 major boss battles and they haven't explained who the Queen is and who Pea was and then boom! the story continues. Love the plot twists now, Shadar being Oliver's Sole mate which I didn't see coming.

And further spoilers: Read on if you have played the story for at least a further 2 hours

Pea being the Queen WTF

Story nice and dark just the way I like it

Does anyone know if the trophies for Esther's Prima Donna and Swaine's Gunslinger just come as you play through the story or do I have to do anything extra?

You get them through normal levelling.

OK! Just finished this - brilliant game, though the respawn rate is to be wary of.

Anyway - for those who've completed it, I'm a bit baffled by something I seen earlier on in the game, just north of Ding Dong Dell:

There was what seemed to be a bounty hunt target monster - a big brown thing with antlers like a deer; it kicked my ass in a couple of turns so I thought 'wtf?' and left it alone to come back to once I levelled up... but I never found it again and it wasn't in any bounty I've seen since. Anyone know what it was / who to get it again? I found it soon after getting the Dragon travel... and could swear I actually seen it from flying...

Still got much  for this.

I'm currently on the hunt for the 3 magic stones with the Ghost Pirate one under my beltso far.

I think I need to change my familiar group though, I've upgraded my Mite to it's final form but it seems to be doing SFA while my Puss in Boats is only a few levels higher than it and is trouncing anything that comes near.

Any recommendations on a familiar with good attack stats? I haven't been able to catch a Naja yet but have a fully evolved Buncher who's doing a fair bit of damage, if only he wasn't so slow

I'm about to head to Old Smoky and I'm enjoying the game thus far although I don't particularly like the random nature of creature taming.
