Has anyone fought those wee TokoToko things near Perdida?

I took one out and got over 8,000 exp for it! That was nice surprise, so I went hunting and took out another 2 in the space of about half an hour. I must have jumped about 6 levels 8-)

Finished Old Smoky this past weekend and thought the boss at the end was the game's first real challenge. Everything up until that point had been pretty easy.

Just got given this today as a birthday present, so will fire it up at the weekend.
Time to see if Studio Ghibli can finally be involved in something I'll actually enjoy.

This game keeps reminding me of Dragon Quest VIII (and yes I do know it's from the same developer before someone points it out). It started with just the overall look and traditional feel the game has, then came the alchemy pot but most recently it's the fact that if you wander even slightly from where you're meant to be heading next the local wildlife promptly wipes the floor with you.

Yeah, you are button mashing a bit, I think? So like manny says, you are telling Oliver to attack, realising you can capture a monster and then switching to Esther. So the attack hits before you finish serenading. Cancel your attack first if need be.

I really should start playing this again. I went into one of my non-gaming moods and have switched to reading loads at the moment.

I've just discovered the area where you can find all your first familiars again. I wanna try to catch a new Mite etc. to max their level before metamorphosing them as I didn't fully understand the system until just recently. Also Tokos  so much experience :D

These enemies gave around 2000. Everybody was gaining at least 1 level. It was the island just east of the starting area, it's called Ugly Duckling Island.

I'm about ready to head to Hamelin. I have a few errands to complete before I move on.

That sounds like my Lost Odyssey game. I followed the official guide book to find every chest in the game but I still didn't find them all so the achievement will sit forever unearned.

Anyway back to Ni No Kuni. The missions where you have to kill a certain number of a certain enemy in a certain way are annoying. If the enemies don't run away my party kills them before I have a chance to what needs doing.

Don't want to say too much for those that aren't this far yet but,

The palace in Hamelin has a really clumsily executed stealth section where you have to avoid guards and then with no explanation I'm in the past
