I've only played a bit of Spirit Tracks, it's weirdly special to me as I was left the cart when a friend died and it still has his save on it, but I didn't get very far. I also found returning to that temple a bit tiresome but overall I'd like to revisit it as it shares a lot of similarities to Wind Waker. However it pales in comparison to Link Between Worlds and ALTTP and I'd probably spend time better trying to get a decent lobby in Tri Force Heroes which, despite its connection issues, is pretty fun and suited for short bursts of play.

Ended up stumbling for Phantom
hourglass. I’m enjoying it so far done the first dungeon and the first section of the recurring temple. Will hopefully stick with it this time.

Is it still possible to get a game in Triforce heroes? Been keen to try it but assumed it had long since died.

Yes, but it can be laggy. I've reset my router though which may have been the problem. I only git it the other day.

I should /really/ get Triforce Heroes, I would probably love the competitive mode (as I loved FSA competitive). It requiring 3 players was what stopped me getting it, as while I can likely easily enough get one other friend to play, getting three people together is so much harder.

Triforce Heroes is a treat with the right setup (ideally three people with voice chat, locally or online) but even then it is bizarrely difficult...the health system is wildly unforgiving, I'm amazed they didn't just let you revive fallen allies over a shared hearts bar.

I also preferred Spirit Tracks to Phantom Hourglass. The Spirit Tracks world is smaller and a little more inflexible, but I found the game more engaging overall.

I've only played TFH a handful of times so far but the most frustrating thing is dicks randomly picking players up and throwing them in water.. until everyone dies. At least you can blacklist trolls but it still means the good player might ragequit because of it. I think some people are using emulators and still connecting to server because I saw someone showing off with weird ass glitches only possible by triggering an action at inhuman speeds i.e. macros or keypresses.

Phantom Hourglass > Spirit Tracks

The stupid train bits are gooseberry fool in the latter.

Picked up Yoshi's New Island in the New Year sale. I know people thought it was a bit ropey but I actually thought Yoshi's Island DS was pretty good, so for just over #11 I thought it would be worth a go.

Thinking about picking up Triple Deluxe in the sale. Is it any good? I don’t need my games to be difficult, but I do have to feel like I’m facing some form of challenge. How true is this for TD? Also, how are the mini games for a solo player? I’m guessing that the Smash Bros alike game is kinda redundant if you own Smash Ultimate.....

I've enjoyed what I've played of Triple Deluxe but it's unbelievably easy, don't think I've died once. And the 3D is nice in it too.

Thanks for the reply. Possibly a bit too easy for my tastes then (of course you might just be a lot better at games than me).
The 3d effect does entice me though - I'm a massive fan of the 3d effect. It's part of the reason I prefer the system to my Switch if a game is on both formats (which is rarely an issue). It always impresses me when there is a 3d effect, though clearly I am in a minority on this one.

Nah I love the 3D myself, was dissapointed when I played Pokemon and it wasn't even in 3D, lazy amateurish Gamefreak. Theres a demo for Triple Deluxe on the estore isn't there?

Currently working my way through Ultra Moon and Luigi's Mansion 2 (my favourite 3DS gams by far and really looking forward to 3)
