No Kirby theme? Why is this allowed?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

...don't sweat it; I'd imagine that there will soon be hundreds of themes available. I want a non-garish Toad one :datass: .

Thanks to YouTube user NintenDaan, here's a vid showing all of the themes currently available:

It'll be the 'stamped felt' one for me!

Gone with the standard blue theme for now until they release some Animal Crossing ones.

You can now share your screenshots on Twitter and Facebook, too. In the Home Screen options, there is now "Nintendo 3DS Image Share".

Whilst Euro and American players were offered the Smash-branded 3DS XL, Japanese players have the option of a Smash-branded New 3DS LL. It looks great!

Dragon, was that number randomly chosen... or a secret code?

But anyway, yeah, I can't think why people in the UK or US would buy a 3DS at the moment - they'd be better off waiting until the 'New' models arrive.

The black hinge ruins it.

I'd prefer if it didn't have the character art either, just the logo.

The force is with you, Jawa.

Yep, that's exactly why I chose that number!

Ahead of the Japanese launch, Nintendo have put up a variety of "how-to" videos for the New 3DS. One of them shows how to change the faceplate, and it made me realise that I'm not a massive fan of how they've handled it.

The "borders" at the top and bottom of each side ruin the effect somewhat. They show how the 3DS XL's backplate works in another video, and it's far more encompassing (it actually covers the cart slot and power button too), so it's a shame they didn't make them like that on the regular one too.

I thought only the small 3ds was going to have backplates, or maybe what you say explains it; it just didn't look like it. So I guess that's good news?

So the New Nintendo 3DS feels amazing to hold. I can't do the system transfer yet due to my SD card not arriving, but as soon as I do I'll let you know how it feels when playing games!

Does the second stick work with smash brothers already, or do they need to patch that in?

Also you go for the LL or the regular?

I went for the regular and about Smash I can't tell until I do a system transfer but my new SD card still isn't here. Amazon Logistics. :dread:

I hope your memory card arrives soon, Qikz... I beleve that the new models use micro-SD cards? I bet the SNES-coloured buttons look pretty cool? We want more of this GRcade exclusive report :datass: .

Here's a call-out to GRcade's lex-man, too - how's your experience of the new LL model going?

I thought the faceplates were simple 'clip-ons' - this seems a bit of a mess.

Isn't the XL's backplate purely practical? It's just to cover the memory card slot and some other gubbins.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
