I tried the demo of Yokai Watch 1 and I just couldn't get on with the combat system, do they get better?

I do on the rare occasion I take it out of the house, but not when it's on the table in the living room etc.

I picked up Codename Steam for £3 off eBay this week. Holy gooseberry fool people got it wrong when reviewing that game! It’s great. Like a cross between Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles!

Loved this game. Honestly, I couldn't understand the reviews. The patch fixed the main issue with it. I tend to think people wanted an Advance Wars, when they didn't get it they shat on this game. It sank without a trace.

Soundtrack is also fantastic if you love Command and Conquer/Advance Wars Days of Ruin style music. Loads of metal guitar.

...*almost*? :o ... ;) . Doom, the 3DS will live for as long as we keep playing it :toot: .

And the playtime tracker will be our proof!

Art of Balance is 70 gold coins at the moment. And Chase Investigations (is that right?) Is 60 gold coins. Bargains right there if they were already of interest to you....

I can't see me ever sunseting my 3ds. My backlog continues to grow... a good thing.

Looks like 3DS' lifecycle is about to come to an end

This comment from ResetEra sums it up for me...

"3DS was outdated in 2011. God so many great games wasted on this piece of gooseberry fool of a machine."

What's bad about the 3DS? It's a great machine, and great games are great games

3DS is a great machine and still a money spinner as it's the cheapest entry point into gaming.
You can get a 2DS and a few Nintendo Selects for under £100.

The chart is pointless as it captures revenue, not profit.

Indeed, profit may well be significantly higher for 3ds stuff and also that doesn't represent sales but sales to retailers.

Also please don't troll, some of us can't afford a £300 handheld.

It's also looking like the last Nintendo machine to have their trademark character. It's simply fun to use.

Oooooh, I didn't realise Nexus is out so soon. I must get that. I missed out on 5 and I'm kicking myself.

Evidence from his own thread suggests he’s not actually owned one... :|

Anyhoo, as a man with a broken 3DS and an operational Switch, bring on the reassignment of projects! (GG’s character point is fair though, although it’s not just a handheld - that’s kind of the whole point.)

I know, but in some ways I feel like it's a replacement because, well, it is. It's both so it's gets confusing lol

Fair! I do see it as more a replacement for the Wii U, mind: the Wii U software line died as soon as the Switch came out, and it's clearly an evolution of the off-telly concept they failed to master and communicate with the Wii U. Meanwhile the 3DS had a couple of belters after the Switch's release: Samus Returns and Ever Oasis certainly, and did Picross 3D 2 come out afterwards as well? Can't recall.

Anyway, I mostly play it as a handheld, and it's more technically impressive when treated as one, but playing the big games/local multiplayer on the telly is Where It's At.

I really want an Ever Oasis sequel or pseudo-sequel

Monster Hunter Stories is a belter of a game too, and I'd say Detective Pikachu was as fun for me as Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

MHS was a solid 5/10 game for me.

This however is god's own truth.
