The original XL is also lovely. I bought one off Suzzopher and it was my go to for a few years before the New came out.

I haven't completed most of them either as they are big, challenging games. Except A Link Between Worlds which is excellent.

I've had Majora's Mask and Samus Returns. Actually I did buy Samus Returns as the Legacy Edition but had to sell it immediately (at a small loss which is ridiculous as it was going for £80+ as new).

Seems like a valid strategy for getting hold of some of the full price titles :shifty:

I'm surely people miss the £30-35 GB/GBA/DS/3DS game pricing now that Switch is out :slol:

I think I've got 2 copies of the legacy edition of Samus Returns for some reason. I've also got the full Fire Emblem Fates edition which I've never played

Banjo wrote:What model do you have? I play mine very rarely but the feel of the New 3DS is delightful, glad I went for the smaller model over the XL.

The best model

The XL staying in production longer is why people shouldn't be allowed to vote

I'm using a New 2DS XL as my main device but I also have a 3DS XL and a New 3DS (Smaller one)

Between DS/3DS this system has a fantastic library of games, now seems like the best time to start hunting down missing games in your collections as they start to go out of print.

Excellent decision.

The New 3DS XL is still relatively heavy and can be a bit crampy, not sure if that's better or worse with the smaller model but I have a habit of balancing the console on my little fingers while in bed, It's probably just the situations in which I use it as normally it'd be in your lap essentially.

Do people use the 3D effect? I never used it save for a quick test of it when I tried a new game. I nevr played a gall with the 3D effect on.

Always up to the max. This gimmick still stuns me sometimes, and i think i still prefer my 3DS to my Switch overall, in part because it offers this incredibly unique option.

Not really a gimmick though is it when it's the point of the system itself.

Well given they made one a few years later that was identical in every way except for not having 3D, and they dropped the 3D units before the "end" of the products lifespan, yes, that's exactly what it is.

And i agree that its great, why the hostility / pedantry?

Depends a lot on the game, I like the 3D when it's done well (although I won't always turn it on, I will do a fair amount). Some games it's implemented too awkwardly though. Gurumin 3D for example looks good, apart from all of the UI elements are at the forefront of the screen - which is fine apart from character speech bubbles. Them not being at the same depth as the character they are coming from is really jarring and I can't play like that, which is a shame. I also think the loss of detail harms some games like Monster Hunter, so I'll stick to 2D for those.

The other problem the 3D has of course is draining the battery significantly quicker - not great for a portable!

This is my current 3DS collection, annoyingly I do also have the Miracle Mask Layton game but I cannot find the box for it anywhere.

Some great games there. I really need to pick up starfox, majoras mask, Luigi's mansion and pilotwings.

Having them all laid out like that really highlights how many great games released on this system.

Really need to play Tri-Force Heroes. I'm almost certain I'll like it but the 3 player requirement is really dumb
