What Japan-exclusive games would you recommend, StayDead? I am probably going to pick up Dragon Quest 7 and 10 when it is ported over, and maybe Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
I just tried Bravely Default and I am not sure whether to just wait and get the English version. I can read some of it, but I feel like I would be missing out (which is the same for any RPGs over here I guess, including Dragon Quest). The game only cost me a fiver, so I am not too out of pocket.
Outside of maybe 3D Outrun I can't really suggest much other than Senran Kagura 2 since all the games I have, have either been released in the UK already or are text heavy.
Try Fire Emblem Gaiden on eShop too since that's an awesome game, but if you do, prepare to be severely frustrated.
Hmmm, this means that my Japanese 3DS is pretty much a Smash Bros machine. Hopefully the new Pokemon games will follow in the footsteps of X/Y and have English support.
I can read, maybe, about 700 Kanji? My problem is that I read these in a studying context and short sample sentences - I don't have any experience of reading Japanese prose. I don't really mind for games like Dragon Quest 7, as this will never get released in the UK so is the only way I will get to play it. If it is cheap enough I don't really mind too much that I am missing out on the story. For Bravely Default, I think maybe I will play the first hour or two as a taster and then get it when I am in the UK. It looks nice, and reminded me of the first Final Fantasy game on the PSP.
Regarding Fire Emblem, I saw a FE DS game in a sparkly silver box and was wondering what it was? It was slightly more expensive than the other DS software (maybe £20 as opposed to about a tenner) and I can't remember a Fire Emblem DS game making it to Europe.
The DS wasn't region locked, so does anyone know any Japan-only titles (bar Ouendan) that are worth a shot?
