Best I can see is CEX has it for £32.00, if you got any bits to trade in that would help knock that down further)

I've been setting up saved searches on ebay, ordered by date listed. That way you can see the new 'buy it now' items that people put up, and sometimes these are a bit cheaper than auctions. If you check frequently, you can pick things up before others start doing manual searches.

But I am saying this with the 'luxury' of not working at the moment, so I have time to noodle about with stuff like that.

I picked up a new copy of Samus Returns for £20 with free P&P yesterday, even though there were ongoing auctions running at about £25.
I had no chance of getting an Argos £12.99 copy, so I was happy with that.

I'm keeping my eye out for Mario Golf next I reckon.

I have 18 boxed and very good 3DS games now, which is more tha Wii U and only less than N64 (including my partner's games) and GameCube for Nintendo and perhaps about as many as GB/GBC. So that's probably the strongest handheld library ever, along with loads of digital downloads including full whack games like Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (both free I think for the buy a 3DS and register 2 games, get one free digital deal Nintendo were doing), Rune Factory 4, Rhythm Thief and various indie and VC games (mostly GB, GBC, NES, haven't got any SNES titles yet except for Contra 3 which is barely playable it's so hard).

I sold/traded in RE Revelations, DKC Returns, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, although I may well end up picking them up again. I only finished RE revelations but I now have that on both PC and Wii U so not much point adding it back save for the fun Mercernaries mode.

Add to the fact it can play any DS games you want to play (still have some titles like Yoshi's Island 2, Bandai-O, Rhythm Paradise, Zelda Phantom Hourglass, Metroid Prime Hunters and some decent curios like Elektroplankton and Metroid Prime Pinball).

If anyone's in a position to run homebrew on their 3DS, that PC port of Mario 64 that surfaced recently has been compiled for the 3DS, and it plays brilliantly!

I've been playing it on a regular 3DS and it's mostly okay. Pretty cool that it's a thing regardless. Are you playing it on a New 3DS?

Yeah, N3DS for me. I haven't put much time in yet, but it runs pretty smooth from what I've seen.

It uses the full 800px horizontal resolution on N3DS, too, which is something I've just learned is a thing.

I played it, but I only did it to sweeten the deal for my 3DS XL selling at £60 boxed, so I could pay off most of the slightly knackered NEW 3DS XL I spotted at Cash Converters for only £75, which was almost definitely a mispriced item (saw other standard 3DS XLs at the same price). I plan to reshell it at some point.

I got a New 3DS XL today unboxed with no charger but a loose Smash Bros cart chucked in for £60. I have a kids 2ds I usually play on and a New 2DS my daughter's kinda claimed/knicked so I figured I'd grab this...

I must have like 50 3ds games, with probably like 200 DS games.

Is an upgrade from a 3DS XL to New 3DS XL worth it? I've been tempted just to be 'up to date' but there's very few exclusives, and would I notice any performance differences when playing games?

Unless you want to play a particular game that needs it, or play virtual console SNES games or plan on hacking it then I'd not bother

I'd agree with that assessment. The list of games that are enhanced for N3DS is also pretty sparse and the improvements are a mixed bag. Some games with inconsistent frame rates have their frame rates improved, but a lot just have better load times. Pokemon Sun and Moon for example gets improved load times (which I don't recall being particularly bad) but there's no FPS improvement even though it's bad in places.

Thanks guys, based on that it's a waste of cash. I've bought and rebought the main SNES games so many times I think I can pass this time!

I was curious about the 3D tracking improvement but given neither of you mentioned it I'm guessing it's not that big a deal.

I just took the 4gig card out of the 3DS I got and put a 32gig one I had in it, so I am looking through the 4gig card that came in it and theres some bad rapping followed by a video of 2 girls recording themselves saying ''This is a well bad camera on here, I wonder how White People look on it'' .... I always find it funny looking at what people have left in there history and on memory cards, not as funny as when I checked a DSI's internet browser history and it was full of links to tentacle porn though.

The 3D works a lot better, you don't need to be at a precise angle, but that's only important if you care about playing in 3D!

New 3DS is pretty vital if you want to play Hyrule Warriors (not exclusive but runs badly on regular) or Xenoblade Chronicles, but the Switch has or will have better versions of both.

The best feature isn't on the New XL though - faceplates

Yeah the lack of face plates is a little annoying

I love the 3D!

The best way I've found to make the 3D pop, the colours more vibrant and the whole display sharper...… is to wear glasses.

I am getting old.

THat happened to me as well, it was some kid, who had filmed themselves doing nothing really, and could see the whole house. Explained why the case is completely knackered but the hardware is fine, so for £75 it was a steel.

About the 3D, personally I really like it. But one of the nice features some developers have implemented, is if you turn it off, they use the extra CPU available to enable anti-aliasing in some games, try it on the Zelda remakes for example and it's really smooth, almost looks like a GC or Wii U game.

The display is obviously optimised for 3D though, so the colours and blacks etc seem a little better with 3D enabled at about 80% depth, is where I usually have the slider at.

The IR face scanner that shifts the 3D around in realtime is genius and it really makes it super usable, it even tracks my face in the pitch black which is crazy (due to it being IR, if anyone wonder what the faint red light is doing, that's the IR camera not het normal one doing the tracking).

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

3D tends to make me feel sick and give me headaches, im an epileptic and although im not botherd by flashing lights or gaming 3D just seems to push some of the buttons in my head that make me feel a bit like I feel after having had a fit.

I remember my mate who's terrified of anything new, being handed my 3DS to try when it first came out
