Ad :-(.

Ridge Racer is decent on the 3DS!

I think I've mentioned this before but I got my (Cosmos Black  ) 3DS on the day that Ocarina launched in June 2011... at the reduced console price and I was still able to claim the Ambassador games :toot: .

You just reminded me about Four Swords Anniversary Edition being a limited time download that I missed and it's still awful

At least Mario 3D All-stars while a limited release doesn't actually add anything new.

I still have that Sonic Olympics 2012 sticker app thing that was a limited download, too!

Just went through and downloaded all the updates from the eshop for the 3DS games I own including one for the Bowsers Inside Story remake.

Think I might actually look at starting Bowsers Inside Story tonight as I have never played it, would people recommend it’s worth playing through?

I've not tried it myself, IM, but the reviews on Metacritic are overwhelmingly positive so it sounds like it's worth a play! The original DS version was well-received, too.

BIS is widely viewed to be the best in the series I think. Me, I really don’t like the 2D bits with the bros., although I think Dream Team made them worse and BIS is still good. Superstar Saga fan 4lyfe.

Superstar Saga was awesome, and I kind of enjoyed the series since then, but I always seem to run out of enthusiasm about 2/3 of the way through. Particularly Partners in Time, that really began to drag. I don't think I've finished any of them since Saga. Currently I'm 2/3 of the way through Paper Jam Bros, and I'm feeling I'm getting worn out with it...

I got the 3DS Lego City Undercover* game for Christmas - I have such a 3DS backlog, and now I have a Switch there's definitely a case of backlog overload.

* I'm not looking forward to the loading times - I shall have snacks/sandwiches available for the waiting.

Yeah I thought Bowser's Inside Story was the best one. I've not played Superstar Saga or Partners in Time for years.
Dream Team I quite enjoyed but Paper Jam was a steaming turd

Other way around on those last two for me. I wanted to like Dream Team, but it was grossly slow and horribly outstayed its welcome.

Oh I remember it being long but at least it had a story and some interesting elements.
Paper Jam had nothing and made it worse by adding Paper Mario

When there's a kind of build up to the 'papercraft battles', it just builds up a sense of dread of the tedium of the incoming gameplay.

That's it, I'm giving up on them and going to sell them. I don't know why I kept accumulating them really.

The motion controls in the final boss battle flat out failed to work.

Bowser's Inside Story is the best one.

Bowser’s Inside Story would have been the best one without the protracted 2D segments inside Bowser, I agree.

I recently bought a new 3DS and rang Nintendo for a de-link so I can redownload my old games. Probably my favourite Nintendo console at the minute.

Animal Crossing New Leaf is a wonder. There is so much to do every day compared to New Horizons which covers up its shallow depth with customisation. By the time I've gone fossil hunting, checked in on my villagers, visited Tortimer's island, gone shopping and farmed a ton of bananas from the fishing game 2 hours will have passed easy.

I also love the amiibo integration. I have Epona, Felyne, Wolf Link, Medlii, Ganon, The Splatoon squid and the Callie/Marie squirrels living in my village! This is much better than the rare villager nonsense from NH.

It is a great little system, I started playing it last night (Bowsers Inside Story) and, to me, it still looks great even on a non HD display.

Great stuff, Carlos! The "Welcome amiibo!" update for New Leaf really is tremendous; the ability to use amiibo (cards or figures) to invite them to your campsite works so well. I do really enjoy New Horizons but I feel there are aspects in which New Leaf remains slightly better.

Oh, and it's ace to see this renewed love for the 3DS arising! I'm tempted to dig out my New 3DS later!

I’m going to go through all my old DS games in a bit to see what else I have I need to playing through. I know I have stuff like Ghost Trick and Alien Infestation that I briefly played but never finished so I would like to go back to them.

Yeah, I picked up Alien, too, IM. It was a very late DS release coded by WayForward and it gained decent reviews; definitely something that would be worth taking another look at!
