Isn't Fusion the last in the series, technically, or chronologically?

really need to see where the story goes next.

Who at Nintendo gets paid to release these strawberry floating games in such a strawberry floated up order, just checked wiki, its just as bad as strawberry floating Zelda.

 Yeah Fusion is the last one chronologically, although it's not as convoluted as the wacky Zelda timeline.

I'd be happy with another Fusion/super metroid style game on the 3DS, maybe using the 3D element in a Mutant Mudds way.

I'd be happy with that.

A Fusion sequel would be great, but right now they're so focused on stuffing as many 'prequels' between the existing games as they can that I doubt we'll see any post-Fusion titles for a long time yet.

Well the Metroid games quite easily slot into a single neat timeline, rather than the Zelda games seeming to happen all over the place in different times or seemingly different dimensions with different actual characters every time.

I'd love for something to pick up the story after Fusion. To be honest, pretty much everything interesting that can be done with Samus' past has already been done. The only even remotely interesting prequel I can think of is something detailing her very origins back when she's still living with the Chozo and first given her armour.

In Fusion, it becomes abundantly clear that the Human Federation's military is intent on weaponizing Metroids, as the Space Pirates once were, and that Samus' destruction of their secret space station won't have dented that enthusiasm for the project. I'm very keen to see how Samus proceeds from there. There's a mountain of potential for some quite interesting plots, enemies, locales etc in any game that follows Fusion. I just want them to use it.

Just got to the first save room after getting a heat shield for the suit, really had to tear myself away from it. Awesome stuff so far.

absolutely.

Unfortunately this is nintendo we're talking about.

Expect the story to continue to go backwards, left, prequel of the prequel, side story of the prequel, prequel of the side story and then a reboot :| :( :fp:

I wouldn't mind a proper remake of Metroid 2 and an upgrade of Super Metroid with lovely redrawn backdrops et al, before a sequel to Fusion comes along. :shifty:

You lucky bugger. :D

It's a phenomenally good game. I replayed it a few months back with the new Wii controls and even now it still looks and plays great. Probably the best title on the GameCube for me.

That would pit Samus against the Federation. And seeing how much focus the Metroid games put on shooting stuff, it would probably mean fighting them.
Up until now, Nintendo has avoided shooting people in the Metroid games, you shoot wildlife or Space Pirates and I can't see them change that anytime soon...

Still, interesting thought though!

Im getting the same feeling from this that I got when I first played Ocarina of Time on the N64 back in the day. The feeling of seeing all these things you're used to in 2D suddenly there in 3D and actually translating properly. The music from super metroid, the morph ball actually working, the areas that are locked off until you have the right items. The atmosphere is just incredible right form the start, showing that space station, swooping around it with the camera so i'm thinking, "wow, I hope theres bits like this in the actual game....wait, I get to play this?!" :datass:

For me, Metroid Prime is GameCube's best game ever. Not even Mario or Link can stop that from happening...

I need to buy this trilogy before it disappear off the face of earth.

I bought it from these guys on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/shops/zoverstocks

I somehow got it for £32 and when it turned up, bar the cellophane it was like new.

A while ago CEX were selling Metroid Prime Trilogy for £12 and one not far from me was selling it, went and managed to pick it up in practically brand new condition! Was chuffed with that! It's £35 now so they've obviously cottoned on to its value, but still probably as cheap as you're going to get it.

They should definitely stick with the Other M template for at least 1 more game.

I still want them to make a direct sequel to Fusion using the Other M engine for 3DS.

I'm beginning to lose hope that Metroid Dread is ever going to happen.

Properly stuck on this now. I have the double jump boots and the game has told me where I'm supposed to go, but to get to the room you need to move a pillar in side scroll ball mode (in the snow level bit), which I'm guessing I need a power bomb for. There is a statue in the room before with frozen hands that I can't melt. Fuuuuuuu. I really really don't want to use a guide but I've been all over every bit of the available areas and I can't find what to do :x

I have no idea where you are at this moment, but the part I go completely flummoxed by, there was a half pipe on Tallon IV Overworld I needed to boost ball up.

It would help if you listed what bosses you had done so I could try and fathom where you are? I only replayed the game about six months or so ago so should.hopefully be able to help.

EDIT - Ah, are you in quite a tall, narrow-ish vertical chamber with Chozo statues?
