PostNintendo Direct June 2012: Making Their E3 Pointless
by Delusibeta » Thu Jun 21, 2012 11:15 am

Well, they aren't giving us much notice?

Tomorrow at 4AM BST, Iwata will make a presentation covering stuff for the 3DS and Wii that's relevant in Japan and didn't get mentioned at E3. Stream will probably in here (in Japanese obviously).

Then at 5am BST, NoE boss Satoru Shibata will present what [s]I presume presumably an English language version of the relevant bits of Iwata's presentation[/s] a 3DS info dump for Euro folk over here.

Chart o' times for people outside the UK, brazenly nicked from NeoGAF:

Will Nintendo have anything that'll please the hardcore after their lacklustre E3 (spoiler: almost certainly not)? Find out tomorrow, 'cause I'm sure as hell not going to stay up until 5am.

Cue StayDead and his one man hype train.

Summary/spoilers:
Japanese stream
Smash Bros 3DS being co-developed by Namco-Bandai and Project Sora
Japanese release date for Fatal Frame: 28/06/2012
Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection announced, includes Dreamland 1-3, Adventure, Super Deluxe and 64.
Dragon Quest X mentioned, 20 days included with the game
Pokemon Black & White plot details, game's out in Japan tomorrow.
Atlus' Soul Hackers presented. Probably will be re-labeled a SMT game on Western release. 30th Sept in Japan.
Lost Heroes, Dynasty Warriors Chronicle 2nd, AKB48 + Mii (why.jpg), Capcom's EX Troopers, Bandai-Namco's Project X Zone, Bravely Default, New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Demon Training all mentioned.
BOMBSHELL: Nintendo 3DS LL announced. 90% bigger screen, no second stick, no AC adaptor included (that last one will probably be corrected before launch). Nikkei gets to formally issue an "I told you so". Releasing alongside New Super Mario Bros 2 and Demon Training.
Animal Crossing trailer.
eShop: Line Toss Loop. Actionloop/Zuma except very Japanese. Anniversary event coming details here.
Four new packs of Kid Icarus AR cards announced, Etrian Odyssey IV demo out now on Japanese eShop, concluding with a Dragon Quest X trailer.

DS Pokemon Black & White 2 arriving in NA this autumn.

European stream
3DS XL. Bigger battery, 4Gb SD card included, AC adaptor not included (you can still use a DSi, DSi XL or a 3DS adaptor will work, also sold separately). Presumably we'll get a date for Black/White 2 and perhaps some more eShop announcements.

Directs I think are the best place for eShop announcements, so hopefully they'll show what devs are doing for eShop. Last time was Rolling Western wasn't it?

Whose to say the Wii won't get one last hurrah? There is a huge userbase that won't upgrade straight away to still sell to. Nintendo could even shove out some half-arsed New Play Control ports and they'd sell. I'm looking at you, Wind Waker. And then there are a few MIA games NoE is sitting on. Fatal Frame, Excitebots and Trauma Team have been PAL converted (and reviewed!) and never saw light of day.

If Nintendo wastes a Wii NPC on Wind Waker now, I won't be happy. It should be a Wii U E-Shop downloadable GCN title with an HD upgrade ala Perfect Dark 64, plus optional tablet pad usage.

I used to get excited for these things but after the last few, not really interested, the 3DS one didn't really announce anything new, just showed more detail into games we already knew about. Hoping to wake up to some announcements. Was shocked they didn't even mention Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem last time.

Fingers crossed for a 3DS Donkey Kong Country.

Last night I had a dream and the only vague part I remember was the ocarina title screen with hyrule field and instead of the ocarina logo there was 3 new zeldas which were elemental themed plus on the right hand side a Majoras mask 3d logo. Believe!

Sadly, this sums me up to a tee.

If they've got any sense, they'll hold them for the Wii-U. Any and all big GC titles.

At least they're announcing new games and who is that smoking hot Japanese business type they had talking all sexy like? Something about a card game but I doubt the internet cares.

StayDead is going to cream himself over this Mii girl band game, they're showing a full music video.

A seven year old game.

What has that team done since?
