Those motion controls need to be removed.

I would love to replay Skyward Sword just so I have a second chance at trying to appreciate it! I could play it on the old Wii, but it will be a blurry mess.

The motion controls would probably be sticking around, should look good in HD if we get it though.

An HD version of Skyward Sword would hopefully alleviate at least one of the issues I have with that game. Basically it's got a fantastic art style but it felt horribly crippled by the hardware.

Sadly it won't fix the fact it's got frustrating controls and is for me by far the worst 3D Zelda (Though I haven't played enough of the two DS games to judge them).

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks? They're 2D Zelda in gameplay

Maybe we'll get Skyward Sword: Labo Edition. Wield your own cardboard master sword B)

Grezzo are probably working on a HD version of Skyward Sword.

They had a job listing last year that hinted at something Zelda in the works:

The job listing has many clues pointing out to a possible remake of another game version for The Legend of Zelda, and this time it may be designed for the Switch console. First, Grezzo specified that successful applicants will be working on creating a game that will run on Unreal Engine 4 which most Switch games are made compatible with. Aside from exclusively working on Nintendo titles, Grezzo also included in the listing a line that says “Would you like to make a legend with us?2” which is the same line they used to recruit people to work for the Majora’s Mask remake but without the number 2 at the end.

I wouldn't put too much attention to what he says. He just tweets rumours he finds on the internet, and deletes when wrong.

He's suggested Directs numerous times before this week, it just so happens this time he's right. 8th March was always a good bet for a Direct anyway.

That's not to say those games won't be in the Direct (although as CoD hasn't been announced yet, it would be a surprise for Nintendo to have the reveal). But both those games being on Switch wouldn't be a surprise and both have been hinted at previously.

I wouldn't mind Skyward Sword on Switch. I actually quite liked it and only had a few issues with the controls. I never quite finished it though and it'd be nice to revisit in in HD.

Unrealistic (and slightly sarcastic) Hope List!

Metroid Prime 4 footage and release date!
F-Zero Switch!
Fire Emblem being ditched into a sewer and multiple Advance Wars titles announced!
Division 2 confirmed for Switch!
Smash Bros also ditched into a sewer for all time (Just for the salty tears it would provoke)
Pokémon Switch is finished and releasing NOW on eShop.
Mario Maker 2 out next month with all new tools and features, as well as backwards compatible with previous games levels!

I'd count tonight's direct a huge success even if the Switch Pokémon game gets a mention.

I never had a problem with Skyward Sword's motion controls, only that the games art style failed to shine through. Some of it's dungeons (Sandship and Ancient Cistern) and items (Beetle and Whip) represent some of the series' best. I'd enjoy other aspects of the game alot more too if it were to be remastered and tweaked.

Just mechanically, SS deserves more praise overall.

Nintendo have apparently liked a tweet by Google Maps with Bananas on a Road in Google Street Map, could this new Mario Kart Mobile Phone Game be shown tonight?

One of my main issues with Skyward Sword was The Imprisoned, hated facing it when you needed, even more so when trying to get the Hylian Shield (which I never got :()

Probably the most realistic prediction right here.

Everytime I think I'm done with 3DS they announce something new. Dammit.
