It is looking really nice.

I'm liking that the "wild" areas are shared with other players.

Not sure what to make about these multiplayer raid esque battles though, looks quite slow here but I’m hoping that’s because they’re explaining the mechanics behind them.

They're definitely taking their time. They've not got a great wireless connection either as the "communicating" messages were there for a while. I'm hoping that gets resolved.

I am enjoying the huge Pokéballs they're using for these Dyna-Max Pokémon.

I was expecting Animal Crossing to be delayed after it didn't appear on the playable list, thought it might even pass by without a mention so I'm glad we at least got a trailer. It looks really good, I like the island concept and it looks to have some crafting/adventuring elements to it which should hopefully add a bit of extra depth. The visuals are basic but that's fine by me, AC's graphics don't need to be fancy and if they changed them too much it might lose its charm. The delay is disappointing as would have been nice to play it over Christmas but there's no shortage of Switch releases over the coming months anyway.

Banjo was a great surprise and I loved the way it was based on the K Rool reveal, they're a great addition to the Smash roster - less keen on the DQ Hero but it was an expected addition. I was expecting that announcement to be followed with the news that Rare Replay (Or at least Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie) would be coming to the Switch but we got a Zelda sequel announcement instead so I'm not complaining! Speaking of which, that was great and given that it's clearly heavily based on Breath of the Wild then I could see it being the big Switch Christmas game next year. Hopefully we get more of a story and some proper dungeons this time around.

As for the stuff we already knew about, I was really impressed with Luigi's Mansion 3 - seems to have lots of new ideas and looks like it's a return to adventuring around one big mansion (rather than the mission structure of LM2). Link's Awakening looks beautiful too and September is earlier than I was expecting, can't wait to play this one.

Very impressed with that. A good mix of titles on offer. LM looks great, Links Awakening looks stunning. Loved the banjo bit and then that snippet at the denouement.
Blinding.

Super solid Direct. BotW follow up got me off guard, looks so promising.

I’m surprised we didn’t get a definitive release date for games like Luigi’s Mansion 3, The Witcher 3 (which looking on Twitter, it might not need a download like some other games) from the direct.

...dang, there were *so* many games mentioned in that Direct that I'd forgotten some of 'em. Witcher 3, No More Heroes 3, Contra: Rogue Ops, tons more... and The (Secret of) Mana Collection out today!

Luigi’s Mansion 3 should really be released the week before Halloween with the marketing potential that offers. So it’ll be released in December most likely, knowing Nintendo.

£35 for secret of mana collection stings a little though. Especiallly given the price of the castlevania and contra collections.

See, I was left feeling pretty underwhelmed by it all.

The games all looked good enough, there were a couple of nice surprises, but I sat with a face like this :| while watching it, and it's only just hit me why.

No Keanu.

No, instead they just paced it to perfection and showed almost all games all the time. :fp:

I don't think seeing something of a new Zelda should be considered too wild an expectation. BOTW was over 2 years ago, and real development on it would have stopped long before that as well - I highly doubt they were slaving away on it up until the Switch launch, it was probably done well before then.

But then this is Nintendo so who knows, we probably won't hear anything about a new Zelda for 5 years now!

Oops!

This was good. Not great, but good. Mostly because of the pacing. I felt it lacked surprise megatons apart from this and NMH3, both of which are surely years away (plural in BotW2's case); but it made up for that with game after solid game. There were a couple of slow segments, including showing off the worst two Resis and expecting what reaction exactly? But it was good overall, and I continue to be excited about the Switch's imminent and distant future.

Looks like I'll be double dipping on some games then! Alien Isolation on the go? Yusss! The Witcher 3 (already own the GOTY on PC, Xbox One X and had it on PS4..) but Geralt on the go? Yussss plz. Ni No Kuni is one I missed out on with the PS3 so I'd like that. Most of all Luigis Mansion 3!!!!! Can't wait :msgreen:

Overjoyed to see Resident Evil 6 (objectively the best Resident Evil) is coming to Switch.

Confusing 6 with REmake?
