That rhythm-based runner might've interested me in a Sayonara Wild Hearts kind of way, but the animations (running, jumping) didn't seem satisfying enough.

Olli Olli World! :D Will this be like Olli Olli (great!) mixed with Lonely Mountain (which admittedly, I've not played...) - either way looks up my street.

That second Annapurna game looked like the most Annapurna thing ever. Normally I'm an Annapurna fan (hey Gorogoa!) but really disliked Edith Finch and this looks like it has some of that self-serious nostalgia thing I like less.

GetsuFumaDen looked pretty cool?

There is No Game always had me piqued :)

Aztech looks like a fun game based on a high-concept name you came up with in the pub, but also kind of looks like the new Heart Machine Game and indeed, lots of reduced-palette indie things nowadays?

Oxenfree II?! I really loved the radio mechanic and some of the lo-fi VHS distortion stuff in the first, but found the stress on dialogue (very arch, written-sounding dialogue at that) less fun.

I didn’t really see anything that interested me, but it’s great to see the sheer variety and creativity out there in the industry :toot:

Aztec thing, CrysTales, Annapurna Game 1, and There Is No Game all looked pretty nice. Then there were a couple of other games that inevitably looked good up until they were revealed as roguelikes. Decent showcase/Direct/whatever overall.

Will be getting Absolute Drift if it’s in the sale, fingers crossed it is.

Edit, it’s on sale anyway so either been put on just now or was already and I wasn’t aware  bought anyway, hopefully £5 well spent :toot:

Not so much in there that stood out to me. Olli Olli World probably the most, although I've still not played the previous game(s?)

That was pretty great loads that interesting to me personally and loads of creative and diverse stuff that I'm not particularly interested but glad it exists.

I'll be keeping an eye on Road 96, Aerial Knights, last stop, Olli Olli, The Longing, Teenage Mutant Ninja Tortoises*, Cris Tales, AzTech, art of rally, Labyrinth and Oxen.

*First-off-bait

Briefly caught up through twitter updates but GetsuFumaDen looks dope as heck. Instantly thought of 2D Nioh. It's roguelike which usually isn't my thing but I will still keep an eye on this one.

Chat's spamming Silk Song. Showcase says that's all they've got. Suddenly say they've actually got one more thing to show. It looks like a point and click puzzle game similar to like 3 other games shown during the showcase. Why do they do this?

You can get this for free built into the joycons

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Classic

I think this another game (Absolute Drift) which might be better on a standard pad rather than the joycons? I’ve found this with every racing game I’ve played on the system (well except Star Wars Episode 1 Pod Racer which I’ve not played handheld) except Mario Kart that the joycons are just not very good for racing games, WRC 8 was awful on the joycons but great on the pad, same with Grid Autosport.

I really like Void Bastards, it’s kind of a Rogue-like Immersive Sim. It’s a good fit for the Switch as well because you can play in short bursts.

No idea how good the port is though

Is there a summary video anywhere?

Any news on Eastward, SkateBird or Garden Story?

Just checked and the port was rough at first but has since been patched up and runs great, shall pick this up :toot:

Just watched this tonight, I thought a few of them were really interesting. Just my opinion on ones that caught my eye

The Longing - absolutely love the art style of it, the waiting concept seemed interesting too, I don't think I've seen a game where you have to wait for that long!
There is No Game - I absolutely love games that mess with what you already know, for me this is a no brainer, will definitely be grabbing this at some point.
TMNT Shredder's revenge - I watched and played a few ninja turtles games growing up. Overjoyed to see Bebop and Rocksteady as enemies to fight as it seems they've kept the game in its roots and not tried to add any new enemies.
Pierre the maze detective looked pretty interesting too. Looked like something from wheres wally!

Ludo is gooseberry fool!
