Software is included,

The variety pack contains a collection of games (i assume this would have the piano, bike and fishing rod) the robot kit must be more in depth to be sold stand alone

Actually, with that robot one, I wonder if that’s what became of Project Robot from the Wii U days? Remember the project that keep coming up on release lists but never materialised

Also, I’m genuinely shocked no one has dropped the ‘how much for the box’ line yet!

The price doesn’t seem too bad then.

Then he should use the designated pink font.

That was my first thought when I saw it, they must have repurposed it.

Think this is probably the coolest thing I've seen in gaming in a long while, couldn't help but smile at how clever it all is, genuinely made me feel like a little kid again watching the trailer.

It'll be interesting to see how much game there is to these experiences.

Is this what somebody was saying was going to blow people's minds?

Anyway, clearly not aimed at me, and I think it looks a bit shitty TBH, but I'm sure some kids will love it.

No, a Ubisoft developer said it would make the internet go crazy and it could have been taken either way to be positive or negative. I think he meant negative, assuming hardcore gamers would react negatively.

There's some absolutely phenomenal meltdowns in the ResetEra thread.

Very much reminiscent of Ricky Gervais - shouting 'I don't want guitar lessons' at an advert for guitar lessons.

Nintendo fanboys want to love every single game they make.

Genius and bonkers, an absolutely brilliant idea, but those prices...

MacGyver peripherals! What a wonderful idea. Great if you've got the time, space and money, but I can't see myself getting into it.

I'll give it a go, my 4 year old would bloody love the robot game.

If the game is included I assume the cardboard packs will eventually be available separate for £20/$20.

Well engineered, die cut, double walled card at high GSM is remarkably durable when folded into various geometric shapes so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Kits to build something to the same scale in plastic would be just as if not more expensive (see Lego) and I think it's actually very responsible to recognise the disposable nature of educational toys.

It is expensive, but the quality will probably be stellar for what it is.

Having said that, Nintendo manufacture more tat than any other video games company, if largely licensed out and the Pokemon company they only have a stake in.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

My mind would be blown if I was a child (especially robot pack), pretty cool concept, can just see the adverts all over TV like the Wii. They did say the announcement was aimed at kids....

Thinking about it the Switch is probably the most 'mature' console for some time, Zelda, Skyrim, Xenoblade, LA Noire, DOOM. Dosen't seem to be huge amount of kids games as yet.

Note that the kits will not be mandatory - although the cartridge is needed - since Nintendo plans to offer the cardboard design pattern for free for aspiring builders

It’s a French article but the above quote was pointed out over on Reddit. You can buy the games on there own and print the build designs for free if you don’t want to buy Nintys own cardboard
