I can just imagine my wife's face when she finds out I've spent £70 on some cardboard boxes. Thanks Ninty.

Some of the designs look neat

Pump-action shotgun, imagine if they brought the new (or any) House of the Dead game to Switch and included this in a set?

It’s a French article but the above quote was pointed out over on Reddit. You can buy the games on there own and print the build designs for free if you don’t want to buy Nintys own cardboard

Now it's genius.

Well done Nintendo.

A few thoughts that I can't trace answers to...

> Can you make the starter pack's five items all at once or do they "share bits"?

> Are you able to create your own things i.e. by combining bits (I suspect not because the kit is geared towards building objects for the games?... unless there was some sort of creator studio?)

> I'm real keen to hear about the quality and lastability of the software i.e. are the games fun experiences for ten minutes or do they have some depth?

It’s a neat idea, but I won’t be partaking.

I think my lad would go crazy for this. I can imagine the Mrs getting involved as well with the build stage.

It's just pure Nintendo at its genius, bonkers, creative best.

NintenLego, why not. Not for me but if the kids love it then good for them. The only way I can see me picking this up is to keep it sealed in the attic and seel it in later years for mad profits.

On the contrary, I think it's brilliant. I am genuinely excited/thrilled at the prospect of doing this with my son. :simper:

Other than the price, it baffles me that people can think this is a bad thing (rather than just a thing that isn't for them).

I don't think it's a good thing. Showed my lad this morning and he didn't seem bothered at all - and he loves Lego. It's got 'five minute novelty' written all over it.

That said, I'm impressed that they will allow the designs to be printed off for free, that seems very generous.

While it has bags of potential I don't think there is much room for Labo to be a middling success or failure. It'll either be a huge hit or a massive flop. Nintendo are essentially asking the average consumer to fork out a hefty price for some cardboard. Nintendo's marketing team have their work cut out for them.

I've lost count of the amount of novelty toys and games I've bought for my children over the years. Boxes of the stuff handed over to charity after the five minute wonder has passed.

It's like amibos stuff - it's not for me and I think it's a massive waste of people's money, but meh - if you like it then go for it, I don't care.
