Exactly, this is just Nintendo testing the waters with VR, it's really not costing them much and they get to experiment with it.

Nintendo have the talent to take VR gameplay to the next level, so I'm glad they're working with it, hopefully we'll see the fruits of their labour on New Switch or Switch 2.

I don't care if it's naff, just gimmie a Wario Ware Labo VR game from this pls.

Could be a possibility for a newer model, it could still be usable with the cardboard/labo version of the headset but they could also sell a premium version made of better materials. If the Labo version is google cardboard then the premium version would be the equivalent of something like the Galaxy Gear or Google Daydream.

I've seen some great suggestions for how this could be used to revisit older franchises - as others have said, Pokemon Snap/Duck Hunt would be amazing. Maybe we could even see Virtual Boy games pop up on it too - It would be a cool way to revisit them on official hardware and a few of the games are actually still really good, Wario Land in particular.

I was just looking on the Nintendo shop and I didn t realise the labo vr starter kit is only £34.99, which is pretty good I think.

Can you access other games people have made with these starter kits?

Set up my Vr R kit today. Pretty impressed by it. I have a little bit of dust or something inside the lens. Anyone remember the correct way to reopen the headset to clean it out?

Those with VR can have a bit of a try-

I bought the Labo VR starter set a few weeks ago, and I spent most of the bank holiday weekend putting it all together. I've made the goggles, the blaster, the windmill thing and the pointless little screenholder (does it actually have a purpose at all? They were saying you can use it when you don't want to play in VR, but the games utilise the motion tracking of the actual Switch screen, so you can't just leave it on the desk while you play with the Blaster, right?)

I can't find any instructions on what I should be doing with the other parts, though. Are they just bits for the VR Garage make-your-own bits, or is there another bunch of instructions I've missed? :shifty:

I put the blaster together this afternoon. A surprisingly complex build, and the bloody thing is huge (context thread). I really don't know where I'm going to store it really. Haven't played the games yet, will give that a go over the weekend.

Little tip for anyone who buys any of this, is thst cardboard goes off (for want of a better term). Build your stuff as soon as you open it, becuase once the air starts to get in, the cardboard quickly softens. Its not so noticeable at first, but the sharp crisp folds and tabs soften ever so slightly meaning it becomes that bit trickier to assemble (tabs bend and crease rather than snap in place for example).

My son and I put his together this morning, I’m surprised by how much fun it is. It’s like the Game Boy camera of VR.

I’d love to see Captain Toad and MK8 get VR updates and obviously a new Pokémon Snap game.

Still on the fence about getting this - I'm really intrigued to see Nintendo's take and I do enjoy VR but the main thing putting me off is the amount of space the Labo parts will take up. Tempted to just get the Starter Kit so that I don't have to worry about that but then I feel like I'll be missing out on a lot of content - I know I can buy the other kits separately but the Smyths local to me has the whole kit in stock for £59.99 at the moment. What would people recommend?

That'll be relative humidity, light blast of a hairdryer should help but could also warp it.
