Welcome to the party, pal!
Will you be picking up Mario Kart 8?
No.
Sorry but I have a list of things I'd much rather get. New things that are not lazy arsed ports of something I've already played for 100s of hours.
Finished Mario + Rabbids. Absolutely sublime. It was only during the final world, and last couple of chapters did the difficulty really become satisfying though. I refused to advance unless I got a perfect, and the penultimate chapter has three battles back to back, which proved difficult (not losing anyone, and completing it in the specific amount of turns), and the final boss battle (easy to beat, but a task figuring out how to get it under 7 turns). The credits are insanely long! I'm going to mop up collectables and do a couple of challenges tomorrow, before moving on, maybe to Fire Emblem Warriors.
I'm also considering picking up Battle Chasers Night War, which comes out on Tuesday. Some more SRPG goodness, after Mario + Rabbids. The price irks me though, and is making me second guess, but I'd prefer that type of game on Switch, especially if it's around 30 hours.
I wonder what online related announcements are to be made during E3, now they have detailed the online service you would expect them to have some games with online features ready to announce
Pokemon - Big, open battle frontier style area in game? Mario Kart - I don’t see them announcing MK9 but what about new DLC seasons for MK8:D? Return of another classic racing IP - Either Wave Race or FZero SSB - Online tournaments/leagues etc..? Metroid Prime 4 - Online multiplayer?
Then of course 3rd parties like Fortnite, Overwatch, GTA 5 and Diablo 3
SSB will be the big online game to launch with the new service. I don't expect to see any MK8D DLC - they wouldn't be able to re-release it again as an ultimate edition with all the new DLC included, as that's what 8D already is. I think not seeing Pokemon will be the big E3 disappointment from Nintendo for many people. Metroid Prime 4 on the other hand I can see having multiplayer to push the online service.
I reckon we'll get Fortnite Switch with Nintendo exclusive skins.
I'll be gutted if we don't get anything relating to Pokémon on Switch, if we get some news about an Animal Crossing Switch game I can probably let them off
Could use both to advertise the online service as well, Pokémon for trading/battling and Animal Crossing for visiting other players towns etc.
Star Fox Grand Prix- An F-Zero/Diddy Kong Racing hybrid
I'd be down for that
Fire Emblem will definitly have DLC and online multiplayer. I'm not really interested in either addition, or the increasing fanservice, but am still looking forward to the E3 reveal.
