To be fair "Fisher o'clock" has a bit of leeway in it these days

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is launching on Switch on 16 March! This *may* be an eShop-only release; I can't see any mention of a cart release at the moment.

Balladeer wrote:Lol no. It’s a very standard JRPG in its flow and plot(s) - and combat, and mechanics, and random battles, and and and. Not to say it’s bad (it didn’t put me off after a couple of hours with its overreliance on tradition like DQXI), but if you’re expecting a semi-mystery sim you’ll be disappointed.

Thanks for the info. Given it is £47 on Amazon maybe I will wait until I spot it on sale. Shame as a semi-mystery sim/JRPG sounds fun :(

I'm on the final floor of Luigis Mansion. I'm having a great time with this game. I heard it was quite a short game but I've been playing as my main game since the holidays, I've put in 15 hours and its all been a really good 15 hours, as far as I'm concerned it hasn't put a step wrong and I haven't touched anything other than the main story mode. I've loved every floor (the pirate, Eygpt and disco themed floors were gorgeous and the slight bits of the game that some might consider filler or forced back-tracking has been a pleasure. The whole thing has been a really fun experience.

I thought it was a great game too, and the credits rolled just as i felt i had had my fill. I never understod the hatred for the 2 backtracking areas, they took about 30 minutes in total and werent without charm.

Yeah, it's an excellent addition to the series and to the Switch library. Very well paced and doesn't outstay its welcome.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I love it. Nearly didn't pick it up because I'm not a big fan of the ghost house levels in Mario games. Found the music and graphics in the ghost level on Mario 64 is nauseating anxiety fuel.

Barnsy! wrote:I was not expecting to love Luigis mansion as much as this. I'm getting quite close to the end, I'm on the boiler room and savioring the game by restricting myself to one or two floors per day as its not the longest game and I hear theres not much post-credit content....I just don't want this game to end.

It has to be one of the most gorgeous games on Switch. The shading, lighting, coloring and overall vibe of the game are great as is the attention to detail in each room. The gameplay looks like rendered cut scenes and the cut scenes look like a Pixar movie. The aesthetic of the game definitely benefits from resolution over framerate and being in confined non-open world spaces. I actually love the utilisation of Goo-uigi and controls which I was concerned would be a bit too fiddly. I get more of a buzz from finding a gem than a moon from Mario Odyssey; I love tearing up each carefully put together room or guessing correctly when to use the strobe light. The boss battles are great but I do think this is one game that could benefit from a hard mode. The whole game just feels like the product of a labour of love.

So very happy Nintendo has acquired the company.

It is great, but I retract my previous comment about it needing a hard mode,

I'm on the penultimate boss - finding it bloody tricky. I'll have another go after work

It's a great game, and has a very Disney's haunted house vibe to it with the right mix of jokes and spookiness. It looks lovely too.

We picked up Luigi's Mansion for the kids at Christmas and I haven't got round to playing it yet sadly, I was a big fan of the original so I'm very much looking forward to it!

The animation is ridiculously good. Probably one of the best looking games on Switch.
