When I said that was the last gem, he turned and said he was really sad now it was all over. Can't believe how much it has grabbed him. I hope in 35 years' time he feels as nostalgic for this as I do for games in the 80s.

(His sorrow didn't last long, he's now playing Odyssey again.)

What rank did you finish with?

We finished with a C, but went back to a save file before the final boss to collect the rest of the stuff, and so my son can just wander round the mansion fighting ghosts when he wants to. I had kind of expected there to be a post-game bit for completionists.

100%. He's only four and since lockdown started has become WAY better at controlling stuff. Capturing ghosts is actually a relatively tricky button sequence - A to flash torch, hold ZR to suck while pushing away from the ghost's direction of movement with the stick, then A repeatedly to bash them - but he can do it really well now. It's that Nintendo magic.

Christ, I don't think it's going to hold up well against modern games but if it's cheap enough I'll have to buy it!

Standard Limited Run releases for Switch tend to be priced $29.99-$34.99.

Nintendo President Apologises For Joy-Con Drift, Can't Comment Further Due To Ongoing Lawsuit

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/ ... ng_lawsuit

Today, in a Japanese Q+A meeting, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has actually apologised for the 'inconvenience' caused by Joy-Con issues. He refrained from making any further comments, citing the ongoing class-action lawsuit currently taking place in the United States.

The case in question was first filed back in July 2019; the lawsuit alleges that "the joysticks on Joy-Con controllers are defective, leading users to experience drift issues". A few months later, following its launch, the Nintendo Switch Lite was also added to the lawsuit as user reports of drift with the new console also started to emerge.

A strawberry floating lawsuit, though? People are such needy wieners. Yes, the issue should be fixed. No, it's not acceptable. But suing because of it? Ridiculous.

The class action lawsuit is the only reason Nintendo are doing anything about it though.

This without it Nintendo would be Nintendo about it and not give a gooseberry fool because people will let Nintendo what ever they want and go “oh Nintendo you are so unique”.

Sueing is generally ridiculous but it does have its place and this is that place.

Sadly this is the case. Hopefully it'll lead to being able to send defective joycons in to be replaced with new ones for free.
